Despite other reviews I do believe that the Hyatt Hotel Canberra is a charming destination with plenty of panache. Certainly its not perfect and there is marginal room for improvement as some of the furnishings etc are a little tired but all in all its a gracious hotel that melds the best of modern with a lovely old world feel.... more

This is one of the most agreable hotels I have every stayed at. The building is low-rise and well arranged, the rooms are big and extremely comfortable, the service excellent. The menu in the restaurant could be improved - a bit too international bland given the richness of local produce. more

I stayed one night on business--was given a very large room. The hotel is old and although the rooms have been redecorated/upgraded, the heating/air conditioning system has not which means you have not so great control over the temperature and essentially no control over the fan speed.
