During visits in July, the Crowne appeared to have had problems with its fire alarm system, with false alarms going off late night and early morning. Really enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza.. We booked a great package through Sydney Weekender. We did however find it very confusing as different staff members told us different things regarding the breakfast as they weren't familiar with the package inclusions. This was a last minute booking for just one night. I was told that I'd been upgraded and was put into a deluxe room on the top floor of the hotel. Stayed three nights over a weekend and they had awards for TV stars at the casino. No noise problems or any other kind. I did have a room on the opposite end of the hotel which overlooked the park, so I am certain this helped. There were three adults in a room with two beds and it was spacious enough.... more

As Canberra locals, we were looking forward to a Valentine's Day weekend 'away', esp during one of the city's outdoor festivals. Requested park view room but got city view on the top floor.
