I was absolutely appalled by the service in the cafe named 19, took 1 hour for meals to arrive. Then hoping the food would be worth the wait, it had no flavor and I've had 100x better burgers in McDonalds. The actual hotel and rooms are extremely basic and dark. On the dressing gown my friend was given at the... More

I totally loved this place. Check in was easy, our room was small but lovely and well appointed. The bar was lovely excellent staff and had lovely big open fires to sit around. We used the spa which was nice and clean. My partner and I went clay pigeon shooting and quad biking which was fab, I would defo recommend... More

Our fourth stay at this hotel. Love the setting but felt the hotel was tired and in need of revamp. Reception staff not as efficient as before as sent our friends to a room otherwise occupied. We were repeatedly having to get key card activated. Food good and dining staff very pleasant and helpful but disappointed that evening menu did... More

After a lot or research into local spa stay overs my fiance booked Slaley Hall for my 30th birthday which I was delighted with. . . .Until we arrived. Granted, the place looks beautiful, you cant knock that. We arrived early so went for lunch first prior to check in. After waiting for 10 minutes for a menu we asked... More

We try to get to Slaley hall about once a year after christmas for a relaxing break. Our recent trip didn't disappoint. Same great location and service on offer. This visit the hotel wasn't too busy so we were offered a reduced price room upgrade on checkin. Great idea as room was very large, overlooking the golf course and included... More

I visited slaley hall as part of a spa package. We had afternoon tea which was delicious. Slaley hall is set in beautiful grounds and is very impressive when you arrive. Staff are very professional, polite and friendly. Our spa package was very well organised and we thoroughly enjoyed our hot stone massage. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room,... More

The hotel feels like a castle. With loads of panelling, open fires and fat settees, we had a smashing weekend. One of the best breakfasts we have had in an English hotel and dinner was great and not bad prices, which is unusual for hotels like this. The room 355 was immense, but shabby, we had an odd four poster... More

The staff have all been helpful and friendly, always have a smile on their faces - valet, reception, spa, bar, restaurant both Duke's Grill and Hadrian. The hotel is beautiful on the outside, neat and tidy on the inside, the poolside and sauna rooms have been kept clean throughout the day. I've enjoyed my birthday weekend thoroughly thank you!

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting hadrians wall. The hotel is lovely and the bedroom was spacious and clean, with a large clean bathroom and comfy beds. from our ( late ) arrival to departure the staff were first class, friendly helpful and efficient, starting with the night porter. The bar area is great with lots of "alcove" type seating... More

I was worried about visiting after reading the negative reviews but I shouldn't have been. The grounds and hotel are both stunning. We arrived early Saturday afternoon not expecting to be able to get in our rooms. We approached the reception desk with caution to be greeted by 2 smiling ladies. We asked if we could store our bags as... More
