Just back from a lovely overnight stay at Slaley Hall. Friendly check in, lovely location and good food. The service was a little slow in the Claret Jug restaurant but worth the wait. Great wine and cocktails served outside the main bar with lovely views over the golf course. Even though the rooms are a little dated they are comfortable... More

My husband and I were lucky enough to attend our friends wedding at Slaley Hall and couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. Our room, which was upgraded, had no faults whatsoever and exceeded our overall expectations. Staff were very friendly and polite. The food (especially breakfast) was incredible. Grounds are immaculate and the Spa facilities were one of... More

Used a buy a gift voucher to stay here midweek in June with my boyfriend. The hotel is gorgeous, the pool facilities we thought really stood out and enjoyed using them. The food we had a burger and steak we very tasty and the room was cosy and had a gorgeous view of the golf course and hotel grounds. Would... More

Visited recently for one night with my husband and had a nice time. Staff were all very attentive, friendly and helpful (80% were not British though). The thing that lets this hotel down is the price of food and drinks. For example we ate im the Claret jug and for a basic main course it was £15 each, and the... More

We found this hotel very quiet and peaceful and the setting lovely. Just wish I was there longer to enjoy the golf facilities that look amazing. the room was very comfortable and we had an evening meal which was disappointing in some aspects. We also found it unusual that the garden bar did not sell and savouries with your drinks... More

Excellent standard of hotel , rooms and lounges extremely good, especially as we were part of a coach trip. The staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and efficient. Initially finding your way around was confusing but lifts were available for the less mobile. We found the brasserie dinning area rather dark but the views were stunning. Local walks are available around... More

A lovely night spent at Slaley with my husband, daughter and sister. From the moment we arrived the experience was special. A lovely chap called Neville swooped bags inside, smiled, greeted, guided and was just excellent. Reception staff were friendly and efficient and the room, although the most basic of the rooms available, was clean and very adequate. Our daughter... More

I stayed here for a conference and found the trek from the car park to the hotel a bit of a nightmare straight away. The rooms were clean but nothing special and could do with updating. I must say though all the staff were very friendly and helpful and always smiling which was great. The food was good overall although... More

This year we had our annual Golf trip at Slaley Hall and had a great time. 2 very good golf course's - Hunting - great front 9, some great holes and well thought out, back 9 wasn't as good, lacked something but still very enjoyable. Priestman - we found to be a better complete course. Really enjoyed playing both course's... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Not 100, not 500 but 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest play home to this magnificent, elegant Edwardian mansion. That the interiors are almost as dramatic as the exterior says it all. This is very old world grandeur with a modern twist. Bask in the warmth of the reception you receive on arrival, dine at Hadrian's Brasserie, or at the Duke's Grill. Indulge with a vichy water spa treatment or just flop in the fantastic indoor pool. The great outdoors doesn’t get much greater. After a bracing country walk in the wilds, or round on our championship golf course, retire to the Claret Jug and the 19th Bar for a stiff brandy. Surely you deserve it ? ... more   less
