We had a lunch here and booked a table for one o'clock. The car park was heaving with Land Drover enthusiasts and all seemed lively. The restaurant inside was as quiet as a morgue, just the scaping of cutlery on plates and taxidermy all around (which you obviously wouldn't find in a morgue) We were offered drinks promptly by a... Me and my boyfriend went here for Sunday lunch, we arrived around 11:30 although lunch didn't start full 12pm as we had been told it gets quite busy, which was right. We were told there were no tables left in the restaurant but we could in eat in the bad, which wasn't a problem as there were tables for us.... More

Disappointed with food. Booked for 7.30pm. Got drinks and were told that the soup, the liver, the cottage pie and the curry was off the menu. Sat down ordered from menu, three steaks, a steak pie and three lamb chops. Waitress returned to say that there were no lamb chops, or (wait for it) potatoes! We made the best of... More

This is an ideal place to stay just out of King's Lynn. We stayed in a room with bathroom, and it was very comfortable and clean. The pub and rooms have lots of character, and the food & beer were excellent. Service was very good. I would certainly stay here again.

Stayed in Gayton at Grannery Cottage for a week and used the Crown several times. Excellent ale and food with friendly staff. The garden at the rear is really nice on a summers evening.well worth a visit if in the area.

Because the four guest bedrooms in this 16th century coaching inn are in the oldest part of the premises, they are somewhat quirky. Our en-suite accommodation (Room 3) had its bedroom and bathroom separated by a tiny third room (used to house the drink-making facilities), so that on the way to the bathroom you have two low door-frames to bang... We visited here on Bank Holiday Monday for a meal as we were staying at Bridge House in Gayton. Upon arrival we asked to eat in and were quickly offered drinks and a choice of tables in the restaurant. Whilst the menu offered a decent range of options we chose the carvery which we walked past on the way to... More

We had dinner at The Crown on Easter Sunday. One of us had the carvery, which was great value for money. I had the seabass with horseradish sauce, which was delicious. The potatoes used in the Mash and roasties were melt in your mouth. The whole place is extremely well run, with great attention to detail, including fresh flowers in... More

Last minute carvery on Sunday, managed to get a table even though we didn't book. The beef was spot on, best beef I've had and nicest carvery too. Although potatoes were rather hard on the outside possibly fried? But other than that, great value and fresh veg too. Thanks guys
