We came across this place by chance, just drove in and asked if they had a room, and were made to feel completely welcome. Madame Hédiger speaks excellent English and was so friendly and helpful, giving suggestions and lending us maps of the area when we went out cycling. The rooms are comfortably and beautifully furnished, and it's just a... More

We stopped in La Verrerie by default, as other hotels closer to the motorway where full. And what a good thing we did! We were 2 couples pretty frazzled after a long and difficult journey, and we were welcomed, helped with attention and discretion. We discovered this beautiful area loaded with history. A most recommended stop. Beautiful and comfortable property,... More

Chambres d'Hotes should be more personal than hotels, with the chance for a chat and perhaps a bit of pampering. If you agree, this is the place for you. Lovely people, great breakfast, excellent room - top notch all round.

This place is simply wonderful. Surrounded by forests in a remote area of Normandy, run by a lovely host, who made us feel so welcome and cooked us the best breakfast! There is not a bad word one can say about La Varrerie du Gast and we hope to return soon!

La Verrerie du Gast is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and seep up the calming tranquility of the forest. The guest rooms are immaculately decorated, all with en-suite bathrooms and tea making facilities and all with a view over the forest. The breakfast is generous, with a variety of seasonal and typically... More

We found this chambre d'hote via the internet and it was everything we hoped for. A lovely multi-lingual hostess and a charming host both of whom welcomed us unreservedly. The property has been beautifully restored and sits in acres of sloping land amongst extensive forest. A wonderful restful place to stay. My wife and I would definitely want to stay... More

A last minute booking due to the ferry strikes brought us to this superb bed and breakfast in a restored lace mill, now a large family home also catering for the odd tourist. Unfortunately we were just passing through for one night. The whole building was tastefully restored with attention to detail. Our bedroom was very comfortable, en suite, large... More

We came across this beautiful place by fortunate coincidence our way to look for somewhere to stay in Sees. The rooms are tastefully decorated and blissfully quiet, apart from the odd stag bellowing as it was the rutting season and the owls hooting in the forest which surrounds the large property! The owners managed to get the perfect balance between... More

A lovingly restored manor house with beautifully furnished accomodation. We enjoyed a one night stay here, whilst traveling around Normandy and Brittany for a week. Delighful owner, Valerie, with very interesting insight into the buildings past. Would recommend highly.
