The hotel in Munster was delightful. Service was good and friendly. We enjoyed our overnight stay en route cross the alps. If you are only happy in Hiltons and Steigenburgers don't bother, but if you like a bit of old world charm you will be happy.

The Hotel Croix d'or et Poste is a perfect stopover whilst visiting the Furka Pass valley. Covered in flower pots, the privately run hotel sits right on the road as you drive through Munster. Our double bedroom was 140CHF. It has a small outdoor seating area with very entertaining 'Basil Faulty' style silver service (this is unintentional!). Food is presented... More

We have been staying in Munster this week and decided to visit this restaurant on the last night of our holiday. Arriving the staff all seemed stressed and this reflected in the atmosphere. Having been ignored for over 10 minutes despite people who came in after us being served we asked for a menu if possible in English, this was... More

I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone, and particularly if you wish to avoid standard and common atmospheres. This hotel is located in a nice village, in the East of Wallis (Valais) on the way to Furka pass. The entire hotel is full of old furniture and objects, photos and flowers. The owner welcomes you and is very friendly. The... More

In January my husband and I stayed at the Hotel Croix d'Or et Poste during our five-day cross country ski vacation, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. First, the hotel's location in the valley is superb. The village of Munster is situated in the center of the valley so one can take day-long ski tours in either... More

Well, lets get the bad bits over first! Was traveling with my daughter so needed 2 single rooms. Neither was 'fantastically elegant' or even elegant at all really. Both bedrooms were pretty tired with 70s bathrooms which worked very well. All very acceptable, though. But the hotel easily makes a quantum leap to 5 stars. Its location is fantastic. From... More

Friends of ours recommended we stay at this hotel as they had stopped their a few times on their way from Geneva to Lugano to spend the night there. The hotel is right before you reach the Nufenen Mountainpass which takes you down to the Ticino valley and then on to Lugano. The hotel is absolutely amazing. We stayed in... More
