The service at this hotel is outstanding, particularly the charming Laurent for whom nothing seems too much trouble. The location is ideal for walks straight out of the hotel, such as up Catbells, around Derwentwater, or to the ferry to Keswick and the staff kindly give out ordnance survey maps to help guests find their way, as well as tips... We went for a Valentines break away at Swinside Lodge and enjoyed every moment there. It is set un a lovely quiet location away from the madding crowds of Windermere near Keswick. Even a power cut in Keswick just before breakfast didn't phase the owners and staff!
