An out of the way hotel, but I was attending a Conference there, so perfect for that. Bathrooms have been renovated beautifully with big full size bath. Service is polite and functional but it is not a hotel looking to go out of its way to better a customer's experience. Good value for money, clean and functional rooms, courteous service.

Great location south of the city, closer to the airport and easily accessed via Highway 1. Chose this location for proximity to Mt Smart Stadium, but was pleasantly surprised by the excellent accommodations. Helpful staff made inquiries for us at a restaurant and then arranged for a taxi. Highly recommend, especially if you have your own car.

This was a perfect place to stay for my first visit to NZ and Auckland. The hotel has very spacious rooms with a lovely view onto the lake. The breakfast is of a good quality and the bar snacks and meals are also very good. The hotel is extremely quiet and peaceful. Although the hotel is situated out of the... More

What can I say? This is a great conference venue. So convenient, and a running track around the lagoon to work off all that food. They could use a little more attention in the gym: some equipment was rusted so I couldn't adjust it to fit my legs, and the Swiss ball was under-inflated. One guest was struggling to operate... We stayed here for Bruce Springsteen concert and many other times, we were able to get the "Getaway Package", which we have also had during school holidays, so clearly its available during peak times. But tried to book for the Rolling Stones weekend, and was told by reception it is available, then oh not its not available during Concert weekends.I advised... Dear Guest I am glad to hear you managed to book our Getaway Package for the Bruce Springsteen concert and I trust you enjoyed your stay and the concert. Our Getaway Package is available most weekends but due to demand can sell out very quickly and I guess this is what happened for the weekend of the Rolling Stones concert.... More

My sister (19), brothers (11 and 15) and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We live in a village with a population of 400-500 people and we felt really safe at this hotel. Waipuna Hotel's proximity to a train station was an advantage.. Actually, it was a huge advantage !!! we had to travel by train to Eden... More

Every time I come to New Zealand and I stay in a hotel I always stay at the waipuna, I have seen the changes over they ears and the suites are getting redone, so looking very comfy, I was upgraded to the presidential suite once and the room was awesome, we'll done! The restaurant has good quality food, and a... More

Good place by the lake n 15mins from downtown harbour. We had a comfortable stay and nice room. Bathroom is big and had a nice tub. Nicely lit room. Conveniently located from the city. Auckland is a great city as well and mount Wellington is 10 min drive from the hotel.

Tourist hotel with noisey guests arriving back from a bus tour at 2 am disrupts sleep patterns. We used the conference facilities and dissappointment is the only way to describe the hotel and its facilities. Conference room was poorly air conditioned, we had to request a change of chairs (to hard to sit in all day). The morning and afternoon... More

Received a very friendly welcome on arrival, quick check-in and a very comfortable and spacious room. Very quiet room, everything I needed. Had some problems getting the internet connection working but received very swift and cheerful support from front desk - even late at night. Restaurant was very good indeed - both breakfast and dinner. Gym and pool were uncrowded... More
