Having just returned from a 2 night stay in this very welcoming pub. Nothing was a trouble to Tony and his staff. Nice to see that dogs were welcome - although we left ours at home. Tony's dog Rex is lovely. We are not walkers and planned to use the pub as a base to drive around and see the... More

Stayed here with my husband and daughter from 26-28th October. Our break was bought via a voucher from Amazon and was exceptional value. Stayed in one of their ensuite chalet rooms which was extremely comfortable and spacious. Great location for visiting the lakes. The inn serves typical pub grub which was pure indulgence! Hotel is also dog friendly which is... More

We've just had a short two day break and thoroughly loved it again. (The third time we've stayed here)The atmosphere is great, warm and friendly and dogs are allowed too! From the moment we arrived the staff could not be more attentive and friendly, nothing was to much for them. Even other customers mad a great fuss of our small... More

We stayed for one night splitting a 600 mile journey to Scotland. Just the ticket: really helpful receptionist who dealt with a special request. Pleasant enough room although the shower room was small but adequate for the job. Thoroughly enjoyed the bar and restaurant facilities with ample lounge space for residents. Tony was very helpful and suggested a nice walk... More

Our chalet room was simply perfect, so private and quiet. The views from every aspect of the hotel were breathtaking. We found some really nice little walks locally and the... More

We frequented this charming in today for our lunch as we are stopping nearby. Lovely and cosy. Excellent staff. Very warm and friendly. A special mention to the young girl who served us our food at the table. The food was gorgeous and very filling. Presented beautifully. Would def recommend to anyone passing by!!

Popped in for lunch after a walk on the fells. Friendly staff made me and my muddy dog welcome. Provided bowl of water for dog without being asked. Steak and ale pie was excellent!! Ale was perfect. Ambience and welcome just what I want from a country pub. If I'm back in this area I WILL come back. Cannot fault... More
