The food at the Cross Keys is great, home made, very tasty, and fairly priced, we have been twice recently and have been recommending this place to lots of our friends and family. We ate here on mothers day and it made my day.

Good location near to the lakes and fells. Excellent food and beer. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us and the dog very welcome. The chalet room was ideal for the dog and very useful to be able to park the car right outside. There were nice views over the fells, you can see the M6 from... More

My husband and I stayed at The Cross Keys at the weekend. We love the Lake District and we like to ramble up hill and down dale. The Cross Keys is very comfortable and cosy and an excellent food menu. The staff are very friendly and helpful,as are the locals. It was a 16th century coaching house, now a friendly pub restaurant with accommodation.

For those like us looking for a quiet location with easy access to north or south lakeland, this inn is ideal. Nothing much happening in Tebay per se, We stayed in 1 of 3 chalets in the grounds with stunning views of the lake district. Lots of parking space, and a children's play area. The chalet room we stayed in... More

Was our first port of call before hiking. Got coffee, was about 1 litre, I'm sure, as I made 5 cups with it. Almond slice-great, flapjack-pretty good too. Nice staff lit a fire for us when we entered. Super cosy little place.

We spent a wonderful few days in Cumbria, stayed at this dog friendly, Inn for two nights. After the first evening, we spent a long day around the Lakes, seeking out interesting locations only to return to our accommodation to be told that our evening meal on the second night was not included in the price, and, after we had... You paid groupon £109 for a two night stay which included a 3 course dinner for two people which would be roughly, +/- £50 plus you had breakfast on both days which would be £32 a total of around £72! From groupon I receive £87 which covers the cost of your food on the first night & your breakfast for... More

We were warmly welcomed by the land lord and a roaring log fire which on a snowy evening was just what we needed after a long drive. The well kept Black sheep ale was greatly appreciated by my husband, as was my chilled glass od Sauvignon. We shared a starter of whitebait (back in fashion) crispy yet plump and wonderfully... Many places advertise as 'dog friendly' but not all are truly riendly to dogs. On arrival our black lab was fed biscuits and made a fuss of on the way to booking in at the bar. This was by the landlord and local customers. Arrangements are made so you can dine in the bar with the dog by your side.... More
