We stopped for lunch today. Lovely meal....beautifully cooked homemade ingredients. Particularly liked the steak-pie. Very good indeed. Nice quiet atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff. My partner ordered the salted beef which she enjoyed.

We have been in to the leather bottle a few times being quite local and decided to go in for Sunday lunch last weekend. Called ahead and told there was no room in the restaurant but there appeared to be plenty when we got there. Sat in the bar and waited for 15 minutes at the bar to be told... More

Our niece booked this pub for Saturday lunch with the family as it had been recommended to her by a friend so no one knew what it was like, but when we arrived we were delighted with the outside and once inside it got even better with all the artefacts exhibited especially the ones associated with Charles Dickens. The food... More

We were looking for Sunday lunch for my wife and 6 year old daughter for bank holiday Sunday. Have found this pub the day before, found really nice people to book at table for 1:30pm. Was a bit worried it might by busy and food a bit cold and dry, how wrong was I. Had large hot fresh amazing fresh... More

What a delight to stay in this very historical building, with all it's association to the great author Charles Dickens. We stayed on a Bed & Breakfast basis, the breakfasts being cooked fresh, not a buffet style, which I liked. We had a meal on one evening, taken in the bar, which was delicious and good value. The staff were... More

I used this charming Inn on a birding trip to the North Kent Coast. I was amazed at how quaint and old worldly the village was as it is just minutes from the main arterial routes in the area. The inn is next to a stunning church and the only thing to remind you that were in the modern era... More

Had a meal at The Leather Bottle with the family for a second time yesterday. The first time was at Christmas and will most definitely return. Great food, well presented, very generous portions, reasonable prices and worth every penny. Beautiful scenery around. Pub not too loud and plenty of seating in side and out. Staff attentive but not overly so.... More

Lunch on an ordinary Sunday. Gorgeous building. Lovely grounds. Hugely expensive ( for what you got) lunch. Tiny portions of the tasteless "baguette" and of the bread with the Hunter's lunch (ie ploughmans with extra ham). Actually it makes me more cross thinking about it than it did at the time. Perhaps we chose badly from the menu. But it... More

We stopped here for something to eat on Bank Holiday Monday at the end of May. The pub was busy but this did not stop the service being excellent. For some reason the girl missed off a burger from our order and she was so apologetic - it was a simple mistake but she popped out with a drink for... More

My partner was born in England and both the village and the church hold pleasant childhood memories for her, so this trip was almost a 'pilgrimage'. A lovely and historic building was the immediate impression. The room we booked included a four poster bed and other 'antique' furnishings. It also had a large bathroom (something I've found a down side... More
