Cruise ship and wedding groups may be getting the best rooms, rates, and service in this hotel. Not the independent travellers. I booked two twin rooms for three nights for my elderly parents and my uncle and aunt, fooled by the relaxing and peaceful atmosphere advertised on the BW Chilworth Manor's website. I asked for rooms close to each other... More

We stayed here for two nights in July. Beautiful setting (a shame about slight motorway background noise when in the gardens) and the hotel has a worn-but-comfortable feel to it. Rooms are fairly small but functional, and minimal noise. A pity that a fan was not available as it was very warm. Bathroom as expected for 1960's. What really stood... More

We wanted a place that was not in th the town, and did not require any heavy town driving. This proved a very good choice and very good access to the peace and beautiful New Forest This was a holiday in the very hot heat wave. But window open and enough brezze

Stayed here for wedding of a friend ,room was comfortable clean and tidy ,bathroom was a little tired might suggest its time for a makeover .Arrived with half an hour to spare for breakfast only to be rushed through with limited choice .The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and well worth a leisurely stroll around .On the whole this... We came away for a 5 night break looking for a rest and some peace and quiet. The welcome and the room was nice and we have enjoyed the breakfast. However as it was a very warm night we had to leave the bedroom window open as there was no air conditioning. This would have been fine except for weddings... More

When we first arrived at the hotel, the drive through the grounds was lovely, you are entering a real country estate. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. We have stayed here several times and each room has been very nice and clean. Good food and friendly staff. The lounge area is nice for relaxing in prior to your cruise.... More

It was my anniversary, and I decided to get a local get away stay at a nice, period hotel. After doing a bit of a google search, this hotel came up offering an exclusive Champagne, Dine and Dream package. So I opted for this. What a great location it was too. Driving up the long tree-lined pathway to be greeted... More

We stayed at another local hotel last year on a similar pre-cruise package (Dinner, B and B plus parking for the car while we were away) but this one was recommended at the time by a local taxi driver and we think it is MUCH better. On paper it looks similar to the other hotel BUT: * the staff have... More

Used this hotel for last few nights of a brief holiday, its a bit like it says on the tin adequate. our room wasn't that large along several corridors but was quiet despite a wedding party. Grounds were lovely. Breakfast overpriced

I have to agree with other reviewers in their disappointment about the general state of the building and some of the dozy staff. At breakfast we really felt like knocking on the waitresses foreheads to see if anybody was in (but the food was very good)! The rooms are dated but ours was comfortable enough and everything worked. Some of... More

BEST WESTERN Chilworth Manor Hotel lies just 4 miles from Southampton, amongst 12 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Right next door to a conservation area, this wonderful retreat is worlds away, but not far away, from the city centre. An Edwardian Manor house, the hotel is an ideal place to get away from it all and is particularly peaceful for romantic breaks! Though were close to Southampton city centre and port, and the transport links that take you there, we think you'll find more than enough to keep you occupied here at the hotel.
