Looking for a place to have lunch we found The Pilgrim Inn. My first thoughts were it's a chain and it will be a "process" rather than a pleasure. I was very wrong. We were welcomed and I had a choice of real ales - we had Fullers and it was excellent. We ordered our meals and they were served... More

Just had a very pleasant Sunday lunch here . Good Roast beef and excellent generous portion of Duck leg confit . Red cabbage , carrot mash and crisp duck fat roast potatoes . Nice to come to a local inn with a relaxing atmosphere ie no television or background music.

Unexpectedly had to stay overnight in a local area and called on the off chance of a available room at this popular location. Was very pleasantly surprised at the ease of booking, and change of dinner reservation time when upon arrival. It was very busy evening and the service was very good. The room was lovely boutique style, with the... More

On arrival, we checked in easily and were warmly welcomed, our room was clean and spacious and the previously requested additional bed was all in place- great start! We ate in the pub in the evening and the food was fantastic, staff were just as good and had we not had two very tired children we would have stayed for... More

Stayed overnight here, during a weekend break in the New Forest. Pretty easy to find, but access is from Marchwood village and not the main A road. Check in was simple and our room was "wow". Four poster bed, huge room, walk in wardrobe, lovely clean bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, and room pitch black if you like that when... More

The foods was lovely although limited choice so good as long as something you like on menu or suitable. Had run out of crumble so very limited deserts. Friendly, helpful staff. Oldy worldy pub with charm

I have previously rated the Pilgrim Inn as excellent. What let it down this time was the breakfast experience. Whilst the cooked food was good, there was very little on offer on the cold buffet - just sliced melon and poorly presented cereals. No yoghurts or pastries/muffins. Hard luck for continental breakfast fans. Same on all 3 days that we... More

Booked a table for two to share the evening with a friend. Requested a quiet table but was offered the table nearest the busy bar area. Waitress did agree eventually to show us to another table. Service was slow we sat for 15 mins before anyone came to take our drinks order. Ordered two main meals one from the Specials... More

Had family meals here which we really enjoyed. Good interesting menu, nice quality food in a lovely traditional setting. The menu was varied and had lots of nice choices including some locally sourced produce which is great. Never used the hotel but have to say it looked nice.
