The rooms were really simple and not very nice - but what else to expect for this low price? The atmosphere is great: The cabañas are spread in the jungle and it's a unique feeling. The reception is only open from 7.30am-10pm. Unfortunately the receptionist was very unfriendly... Be sure to spend an evening in the restaurant, enjoying the food... More

Don't even consider staying elsewhere. This is truly a unique experience. Don't bring your computer, and just talk with other travelers and people spending time there. Explore the eco park surrounding the commune. I stayed in the Jungle Palace where the one room hut was just what I needed. Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, not because of... More

We took the night bus from Merida to Palanque (the midnight bus does not arrive earlier, do not be fooled.. we got there at 9 am and heard the exact same story from other travellers). Took a taxi to El Panchan. Limit the cost by gathering some other people. We took a room with air conditioning at Margerita's and Ed's.... More

My partner and I arrived late at night after our bus was held up on the road for hours by a protest. Shared a taxi with some travelers from the bus that were also headed to Panchan. The taxi driver pulled up to a bar blaring music with only 2 people sitting there. The guy behind the bar told us... More

Stayed in Jungle Palace for 3 nights and had a blast. The cabanas are cheap and very basic but you really feel like your in the jungle, because you are! The food in the restaurant is good but not that cheap compared to other places in Mexico. The service was hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes dreadful. Security seems to... More

We stayed here for two nights. This is in the jungle with a bunch of cabanas surrounding a main restaurant/entertainment area. There were live bands and fire shows at night. The food at the restaurant was really good. People are very friendly! The jungle is so cool. There are paths that lead over bridges with small rivers underneath. The cabanas... More

Close to the ruins of Palenque, far from the city centre, there is an area with cabanas in the jungle called el Panchan. Amazing! One bar/restaurant that is surrounded by cabanas hidden between the trees. All the cabanas are connected with small paths and bridges. Staying here is a once in a lifetime experience. The cabanas are very basic but... More

You like the jungle? You don't care about comfort? You are more the adventure-guy? You are a Hippy or follow the New Age Movement? You like Reagge and/or techno? Or at least you've seen "The Beach" and wondered if there really exist places like that anywhere on the planet? Then THIS is the place to be when you happen to... More

My husband and I didn't stay anywhere else but here, so I can't say about the other hostels. But margarita and eds place is fantastic! Huge shower with great water pressure. A large comfortable bed and big, very clean room. Service is great, people are friendly. Our view was facing directly into the jungle with no other buildings. Have a... More

We stayed in Palenque for 1 night during our month long stay in Mexico, mainly to see the ruins. We are glad we chose the jungle accommodation as Palenque town is a little drab with not much to do. The accommodation is just outside the entrance to the National Park so is very handy to the ruins and museum. Our... More
