My boyfriend and I stayed here three nights while in Palenque and I have to say it was a great hotel. The room was clean, spacious and had a safe, and the maids came every day to clean and change the towels. There are mosquito nets on all the windows and there is air-con too, which is a welcome relief... more

I stayed at Hotel Xibalba in the quaint "La Canada" section of Palenque Mexico. It was so peaceful and comfortable! The hotel staff specialized in individual attention and small groups. The area is like living in a tropical park, with monkeys and birds in the tall old growth trees that tower above this garden-style hotel. Prices are very reasonable, and... more

My husband and I stayed at the Xibalba for four nights in Jan. 2009. The hotel is located in the La Canada area of town which is a quiet and cool haven of hotels and restaurants nestled beneath lots of tall trees. It is just off the main highway, only a few blocks from the bus station and the combi... more

I appreciated that my room was spacious and it had a safe, but that's all I can think of that's positive. I had to ask both days I was there to have the hot water turned on. The view was of a dump out back. They keep a pair of dobermans that are allowed to bark and howl outside your... more

This is a really nice hotel and very good value for the price. It is on pretty cobbled street and the area seemed pretty safe. We stayed here for two days in the newer part of the hotel ( this is in a different building ). The room was simple but very clean, had an a/c and a large safe.... more

booked hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor, asked for a quite room in the main building. Hotel is in a quite location close to the main street & bus station, room comfortable, clean with air conditioner & ceiling fan (a must in Mexico), no Wi Fi but 2 computers near reception. Restaurant / coffee shop opposite the reception. 2 minutes... more

We've been robbed! We left the hotel room for about two hours and someone (thief) entered and stolen our camera and mobile phone. The problem of Xibalba is, that it has two parts. The main one with the registration desk, and a separate ¨maya¨ like smaller building. The separate one is opened to anyone and the room doors are normal... more

I spent three nights at the Hotel Xibalba. I had asked for a single room with a view in its older building, but that structure was apparently undergoing renovation. Instead, I was given a large room in the newer building with a lovely view of the trees behind the hotel, and this room suited my needs quite well. The room... more

I stayed at this hotel 1 night with my wife during our trip in Mexico. We wanted to visit Palenque ruins. There are many hotels and hostels in Palenque but we were looking for a room with bathroom, airconditioning and not far away from bus station. I red some reviews of this hotel on Internet and in the guide and... more

I stayed for five nights at Hotel Xibalba - the sixth time I've stayed there since the amazing and enigmatic Mayan temples first drew me to Palenque in 1997. Hotel Xibalba (Xibalba is the name of the Mayan underworld) has grown from seven to about twenty six rooms over the years and is a great base for exploring this part... more
