We met Aldo last year when we stayed at his lovely little inn, Villa Del Porto, which is right by the Kalkara Marina. He is the last of a breed. A true hotelier that provides a degree of personal service I thought was long past. He truly has a passion for what he does and will go to extraordinary lengths... More

Such a quaint delightful property run by warm, hospitable people. The rooms are clean and comfortable and what it may lack in luxury and perks, it more than compensates in homeliness and character and that's how it's marketed and what makes it brilliant. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was peaceful and enjoyable; the surrounding neighbourhood is equally warm and welcoming.... More

Villa del Porto is nestled in along the harbour area in the small village of Kalkara. While a bit off the usual tourist trek, Kalkara is an easy stroll to the historical cities of Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua. Transportation to Valletta, and points north, is easy available by public bus or water taxi service. Manager, Aldo Camilleri, and the staff... More

A pretty and fairly quiet location (apart from noisy road just outside).Lovely old building owned by the very nice Aldo, but hotel standard very poor. Room 103 was clean & had super harbour views but room VERY small & much more suitable for single occupancy .''Double'' bed only 4'6''/137cm wide; shredded foam pillows; thin, poor quality bed linen; swaying flat-pack... Villa del Porto is located in Kalkara, one of the three cities close to Valletta. This guest house is situated on the seaside of Kalkara with an amazing view from the front rooms. The location is perfect if you want to explore the island. The room was clean and equipped with AC, TV, telephone, mini bar and massive shower, safe... More

The Villa Del Porto offers a nice view over the port and the owner is friendly and helpful, and the service good. Room 204 (I don't know about the others) was quite small though and the bed laid through, and unfortunately did not have a view on the port. The place is nice, but at a busy road with single... More

We were in this peaceful guesthouse for 4 days. The owner Aldo is absolutely fantastic and terribly kind, helping you any moment in planning your visits to the island of Malta. Ask for the transfer from airport! If you do not like chaos and touristic places, choose this small guesthouse about 20 minutes by bus n. 3 from Valletta (going... More

Rooms are quite small, and best bring extra towels as they don't change them till you leave, after showering in the morning, towels still wet in the evening. Pillows uncomfortable as inside it contains shredded foam. bed sheets too thin and coming off easily. big gap on shower frame in room 204 leaves water ingress on floor. Apart for that... More

I've read good reviews about this hotel and my stay was even above the expectations. The host - Aldo - is extremely helpful and courteous. I got a single room on the ground floor first, it was a bit noisy, and Aldo had immediately arranged a different - a twin - room for me for the same price for the... More
