We stayed in Amantani for 2 nights. The first night with local family home stay while the second night in Kantuta Lodge. Amantani Island itself is a charming island. Definitely worth more than a night to fully appreciate this place. Staying with local home stay is a unique experience, with very basic accommodation, no running water and no hot shower... More

The only hotel on Amantaní. We travelled with a group, where all the others stayed in private homes. Several of them still came to Kantuta for their meals, as part of the program with their host families. The owners are super friendly, the food was good (and better than for those who didn't stay there but came to eat), panoramic... More

A group of us stayed with Sequndino Cari Cari and his family. Although the accommodation was very basic, we had a lovely stay. There was limited hot water available and a stash of warm blankets for the chilly nights. Lovely meals were served upstairs in the dining room - using local , fresh ingredients. The house is situated uphill from... More

A very rustic but functional lodge awaits you in Amantani. The main advantage of staying here is the family host. They are warm and welcoming. The experience feels like a homestay with the advantages of having your own room and facilities. We arranged for a private boat pick-up with Segundino in Puno, and visits to the islands of Uros and... More

The 4 star rating is based on lodging options in area.... if want to experience Amantani island, (& I recommend you do) this is good choice. The rooms are very rustic - think 3 with ensuite bathrooms & the rest requiring sharing of a couple bathrooms (there are 10 or 11 rooms in total). There is electricity in the rooms... More

Kantuta Lodge is a small family run guest house with ensuite toilet and shower facilities, including hot water, which is not normal for the island. Other people described outside toilets, no water or cold water from the tap at best so we felt rather priveledged especially as the temperature was below freezing at night. Like everywhere there was no heating... More

Better stay in a family house for half the price: around 30 soles vs. 70 soles. The lodge is comfortable, with nice view. But the food is nothing special: only vegetables and fried cheese. The family is friendly, however first interested in your money. The boat service is especially overpriced: they offered 300 soles for a Puno pickup! Mixed feelings... More

Segundino Cari is a fabulous host. He picked us up in his boat at our hotel in Puno, took us to the Uros Islands, and then brought us to Amantani. The man can carry a suitcase on his back like it's nothing. His wife and daughter cook up a mean soup. Segundino also took us around the island and over... More

I highly recommend Kantuta Lodge. Ran by the lovely Cari family, there was plenty of great food, great company, and great accomodations. They went out of their way to arrange transportation, which is a 4 hour boat ride from Puno. We called the Lodge from Puno and they made arrangements for us the very next day. The Kantuta Lodge gives... More
