We went for a 1-week drive on the English south coast from Cornwall to Canterbury, staying at various B&Bs on the way. Our first B&B stay, two nights at The Old Fire Station, was by far the most enjoyable. During our two nights, it felt like we were staying with friends and I especially enjoyed our great breakfast talks. This... More

We have just spent three nights in what can only be described as the most relaxing and enjoyable little B&B. Nothing was too much for Lis and Angus, the breakfast was full of choice and the rooms spotless and full of all sorts thoughtful items. We will certainly be back soon.

The warmest, most genuine loving couple run this B&B. They're extremely welcoming, helpful and professional. Not only are the rooms modern, efficient and cosy but they're the cleanest B&B rooms I have EVER seen, I felt beyond safe and happy there. Within walking distance to the stunning Cape Cornall and only a short drive from St Ives, Penzance, Porthcurno and... More

we intened to stay just the one night but our hosts were so welcoming and friendly we extened our stay. The breakfasts were to die for, continental vice full cornish but better for it. This was our first trip to this part of cornwall and we'll definately be back and use this as our base again. Can't fault it. Hosts... More

£75 double ensuite. Small room but beautiful, modern, recently refurbished. Delicious breakfast, much nicer than a greasy cooked one. Lis and Angus are really friendly and helpful. Don't eat at the Commercial Pub - the food was disgusting and I was sick afterwards. You must visit the Geever Tin Mine - it was fascinating.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at this lovely B&B. We stayed on the ground floor room, which was very comfortable (though slightly on the smallish side for my 6'3" husband - but otherwise great). The room was light ,airy, clean and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a good night's sleep every night. There... More

lovely place, lovely house, lovely people. I fell in love with the place. They care and it shows. The attention to detail is great. When you get tired of carpet and bacon and eggs...go there!

What I remember best about The Old Fire Station is its architecture. The building used to be a real fire station and was beautifully converted into a family home and later a B&B without spoiling its character. The combined breakfast/dining/lounge room is very spacey with high ceiling, because here the fire engines used to park. Our room was under the... More
