Stayed overnight whilst attending a wedding in the area. All staff to be congratulated for their attitude it's a refreshing change to visit an establishment where everyone wants to be of assistance. Ate lunch in the terrace bar enjoyed sandwiches presented with a small taster of broth. Shame they show the football in here as a large party were enjoying... More

Brilliant setting, beautiful grounds, the most majestic room and perfect weather. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and even with big groups in the kitchen coped well. The worst one could say is there are stairs but what would a Manor House be without them.

The setting and main hotel were lovely. We were in the new part of the building and our room was not tip top, dirty cup on the window ledge and biscuit wrappers under the bed! Also the lesuire facilities were sub standard, not all thermal rooms were operational and my daughter picked up an ear infection from the pool!

After finding this place at around half price on amazon local, we booked it for my girlfriends birthday. We were very impressed. The facilities are good, not too far from town, great rooms. The breakfast was awesome. Would highly recommend. Especially in summer, or if you have a decent foresight for snow, I imagine it would be nice the

We asked for a room overlooking the pond and gardens. Which we had on the top floor with four poster bed. But we always felt we were in an attic. The bathroom was small, far too small considering the space in the bathroom. The four poster bed was as hard as the floor and must have been built at some... More

Just returned from a very quick one night stay at the Mercure Shrewsbury as we were en-route with children to nearby PGL Boreatton Park. Decided to spend the extra £40 or so rather than get a TravelLodge-type hotel and boy I am glad we did. The uniformed staff were so professional and welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us -... Stayed here for just one night while at a wedding close by. The service was excellent as was the breakfast. Rooms were well appointed. The stables block where we were allocated were modern and similar to chain hotels of this standard. If you want the atmosphere of the old hall check your room allocation. My only niggle was that my... More

My company recommended me this hotel. I can say that have a lovely bed room, the place is very beautiful. But I was there as a worker. I mean, i really needed internet. I couldn't even download e-mails or enter at any kind of websites. After some time I made a decision... "I will find another hotel". I left the... More

Stayed for 2 nights 14th amd 15th April. Initially given room 94 in the Stables but we asked if we could move into the main building as it was quite a distance from the spa and didn't want to have to walk outside each time after using the spa. The next room was19. Nice view of lake. Smaller but much... More
