We've been here many times now. We've had annual family camping weekends with other families (up to about 10 families) and the last 2 years have had 'Dads and kids' weekends. The campsite is well run and relaxed. The on site shop has most of the basics you need, as well as a great collection of beers. The wash facilities... More

We were booked into the only gypsy caravan on the site for Friday and Saturday. Couldn't fault the site and the office staff and the staff member that showed us to the caravan was lovely-however for the money we paid we felt that it wasn't value for money-we had no problem with there being an Alien Night on the Saturday... The only campsite for us! The orchards is not only a fantastic family site but the staff are second to none. They are all so accommodating we've been going regularly for 3 years and will continue to do so for years to come, and then some! They really have thought of everything and it is a pleasure to camp there,... More

My family and friends just spent a brilliant weekend at The Orchards. Excellent value 'alien' themed weekend including the usual great facilities at this first class campsite, as well as a great paella meal provided, fancy dress competition and disco. As always a friendly welcome and helpful readily available staff. Toilets and washing facilities are good and clean and never... More

We are a family of 5 and are tent campers, our boys are age 12, 9 & 8, we go to The Orchard Campsite at least 3 times a year but this was our first year attending The Alien Weekend. Pitched at the top with electric as requested, we were so pleasantly surprised when we found out there was a... More

Went to the site this weekend. Initially impressed by the friendly welcome from the shop staff who booked us in. The site is well laid out over 2 large fields and despite arriving late on the Friday we still had a choice of all the area's. The shop is well stocked with most items and reasonably priced. The facilities are... More

In theory this should be a lovely idyllic site particularly going by the website and reviews. Unfortunately it was overcrowded and incredibly dirty. The 5 toliets were woefully inadequate for the amount of campers , mould on the walls and overflowing bins. The showers ....well we avoided using them for the one night we were there. There was evidence of... More

Stinking toilets, dirty tiny showers and not enough of either. We stayed over the third weekend of August which happended to be hot and the campsite was very busy with little free spaces and the toilet / shower block was busy, often queueing and always smelly. We have been to other campsites with glow sticks, campfires and ponds etc so... More

Unfortunate had smell from sewage works drifting over during the sunny weekend stay last July. With young children a concern with the river and 3 deep ponds on site. Loud music going on until gone 1am not great. Facilities good and quite clean, staff friendly and shop had lots in case you are short. Chip shop in village very handy.... More

A lovely campsite, with a great variety of pitches, either peaceful ones by the river or in the woods. The children loved playing in the river, using the Ping pong table and playing in the small playground. One of their highlights was collecting glow sticks with all the kids in one of the night time games organised by the campsite.... More
