Through a hotel booking website Hollybush was advertised at £40 per night. We phoned to book but were told the price was £100 for room only. We went back to website & booked online for £40. On arrival we knocked on the pub door & were shown to a room in a building in the car park. The smell of... More

Visited with my husband, son and his fiance. Booked into restaurant which, on Web page says grills. Wasn't too happy to be told Sunday lunch only. To be honest we were going yo leave but they offered us the grill menu. Downstairs is a different menu but unable to have this upstairs, they did however, on this occasion let us... More

We've been here a few times now when visiting family in South Wales, but I wonder whether the reason that we return is due to there not being many other viable options for what is, on the whole, good food. As other reviewers have commented, the biggest downfall is probably the attitude of the staff. The younger females have always... More

Doesn't matter what your request is. Staff will say no without any thought and without checking. Decaf coffee? No. Bread basket? No. Particular desert on the menu? No (for the second time in a row). Steak rare? No chance. Customer services and decor straight from the 80s. I imagine it only keeps going because of its location.

Ive been to this pub for food a few times over the years but Sunday was a gorgeous day and we wanted a nice location for lunch. It was very quiet when we arrived 12.30ish. We sat outside to eat and there was cutlery, newpapers, napkins, sauce sachets everywhere. When food did arrive after quite a long wait it wasnt... More

Have just completed a lovely two night stay at this gem of a pub which is located in a beautiful part of South Wales. Our room was both large and comfortable and it felt a bit like a home from home. We also ate in the pub on both nights and their two for a £10 meals were very tasty... More

Don't even think about arriving late to this place luckily I phoned ahead or I would have been locked out! Had to collect key and return as owner not willing to wait up beyond 9.30pm. Was given a key to a padlock on a sturdy metal barrier ( in the dark) and then to the rooms in the car park.... More

My partner & I booked an overnight stay in a superior room. We stayed last year so decided to rebook. Although the location is beautiful we were extremely disappointed with what the hollybush had to offer compared to our previous trip. Room - arrived at 2 & the bed unmade from the last guests, dirty bowls left in room with... More

5 of us visited here on the 21st December. Two of us had the 2 for £10 and chose the lasagne that we had last Christmas which was very nice. It arrived looking very dry and much smaller than usual, and so it tasted. When we came to settling up the drinks total seemed very high and when asked to... More
