Visited here as it was the closest hotel to a family party. It is what it says it is, a 3 star hotel that's a bit old fashioned however some of the original Art Deco features are quirky and well preserved. Car park is a bit of a pain to get into as very narrow driveway and I wouldn't want... More

Stayed here for the one night over the May bank holiday weekend as a friend was getting married nearby in Salford Quays. The room was basic, but had tea/coffee making facilities, a comfortable (if a wee bit small) double bed, wardrobe, a fully functional bathroom and a satellite TV. It's a beautiful old house with lovely gardens which unfortunately we... More

I stayed at this B&B the evening before the Manchester marathon. It was great to have free parking, a really warm welcome and the room had everything I needed. I mentioned that I would be leaving before breakfast and a marathon snack pack was placed in my room for the following morning which was fantastic, couldn't fault this B&B!

Perfect for our football trip, shame about the defeat :-( Walked back after the game because of the traffic- saved sitting in a taxi- but a fair ol hike haha ;-) Average cab fare to Old Trafford was £5-6 Nice welcome on arrival from Mr Campbell, comfortable room, free wifi. Excellent breakfast served by friendly staff. Left property behind which... More

We returned for a second visit, in Feb 2015. It was what I remembered, we had a different room and I think although it was road facing that I preferred the room this time. It had a lovely bay window. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities you need for a 1 night stay (tea, coffee, bath... More

My husband and I stayed at the Thistlewood last Wednesday evening. We were given room 9, at the very top of the house, up three flights of stairs. We assumed that this was because all of the other rooms were taken, but we were only joined by one other couple the next morning at breakfast. There may of course been... More

Positives - the building, free parking, spotless clean, very comfortable bed, excellent value @ £65 for a double room and a truly fantastic home cooked breakfast. Negative and the only one - heating clicked off in the night and in a cold February the room was chilly.

This is a lovely old House and for what they charged (compared to other places) I could find things to pick fault with if it were a 5* establishment but it wasn't instead it was a lovely old place, very well presented and spotless !. My room was only small, but again it was spotlessly clean, the wifi was a... More

I found the B&B ok, I drove down the very narrow private road to the very secluded car park and parked up. I must admit, at this point, I was quite nervous. Being alone in the car park with no lighting whilst walking back up the road to the front door was quite daunting. This disappointed me immediately. I was... More

I only had one night here but enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even changing my room so I could check in a little early. The room was not big but comfortable and had all I needed. Breakfast was cooked fresh and I was asked if I wanted more. Nothing was too much trouble. My only... More
