Arrived on my own to attend a wedding, having been dropped off by friends staying nearby. Was welcomed by Libby with a lovely cup of tea and her delicious Welsh scones. My room was beautifully presented with the most stunning views of the hills and valleys. Everything could not have been better. Even the sheep in the paddock are show... More

We enjoyed another wonderful stay at this comfortable, farmhouse set amidst glorious countryside. Our spacious room was spotlessly clean, we had a well fitted ensuite with bath, separate shower and large, fluffy towels, which were changed each day. The hospitality tray with its home-made biscuits was a very welcome sight after a busy day at the Hay Festival. The delicious... More

Great views, fantastic breakfasts very comfortable kingsize bed & the extras i.e. home made biscuits & scones. Libby welcomed us with coffee & cakes, & we were treated almost like friends. Ours was a three night stay & with so many attractions nearby we were spoiled for choice, a definite revisit in the not to distant future is a must,... More

Stayed over the Bank holiday weekend, sharing a twin room which was really comfortable and spacious with a very nice en-suite bathroom. There were some lovely welsh cakes in our room on arrival and next day we had shortbread. Breakfast was delicious, we had loads of porridge, eggs, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms ( we are vegetarian) and there was lots... More

My sister and I chose Highfield again for our second visit to the Hay Festival, staying here for three nights. It is an extremely comfortable B and B, with a very spacious bedroom and ensuite, overlooking the garden and fields of sheep. Libby is so very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. When we arrived, we were greeted with a... More

Our second stay here and just as enjoyable, Libby greeted us with tea and cake in the lounge, these were also supplied in our room every day with fresh milk in a flask, ( best shortbread I have tasted) both Libby and Roddy were very welcoming. The rooms are spotless and well equipped, comfy beds with a large bathroom with... More

In an absolutely idyllic location with views from the house across the valley, we stayed here for three days whilst we explored the countryside. We were treated on arrival with tea in the lounge with Welsh cakes, these were also supplied in the room each day. The bedroom we had was large and spacious, plenty of draws and wardrobe space... I have stayed at Highfield twice - in 2012 and in May this year. Both times I have been impressed by the high standard of accommodation. Our lovely bedroom had very comfortable twin beds with tasteful duvets; the ensuite bathroom was large with bath and shower, toiletries and fluffy towels and an abundance of hot water.Views from our window were superb... Highfields is a working sheep farm (don't tell Roddy that the Texels are probably the ugliest sheep on the planet....) with the B&B run in the farmhouse by his wife, Libby Jones. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and spotless and well-equipped - the morning tea tray has real milk in a flask rather than those nasty little pots and home-made... More

We enjoyed the wonderful experience of eating a delicious home cooked breakfast, whilst sitting by the dining room window, watching lambs being bottle fed! Delightful! My sister and I stayed here for the Hay Festival. We had cold, wet weather, but what a pleasure to return to this warm, comfortable farmhouse. We had a superb, spacious room, comfortable beds and...
