We have been down the railway inn for a meal. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our food but It was well worth the wait as the food was spot-on. I think one for they bigs problems are with the facilities in the ladies as the lighting is poor and they are not the best.

Ok ,it seems a bit of a mystery that this oasis for the weary visitor to the Staffordshire Moorlands, doesnt do better than it seems. The owners are more than welcoming and the meals are plenty.Ten of us sat for about twenty minutes after we had ordered, and were rewarded admirably for our wait.Portions were ample and presentation was superb.Ok its a pub... We didn't book this hotel but arrived at our hotel to find they had double booked and sent us to the Railway Inn as they'd be expecting us. On arrival a man groaned that we'd been sent there and a polite woman who seemed a little embarrassed by him took us to our room. The 'family room' was very basic,... More

Stayed over at weekend with my daughter and 2 grand children while visiting Alton Towers 10 minutes away. Traditional pub with exceptional food which was so well presented - rib eye steak and sausage and mash spot on, lovely large breakfast. There was a party on when we stayed but we heard nothing as room was at the back. The... More

After hearing good reviews about this place we decided to go there for a family meal. There were 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 children, we had to wait about 5 minutes while they cleaned a table for us, which was not a problem, but when we sat down no one approached us to give us menu's or tell... More

Stayed the night because we were going to Alton towers, was a lovely stay and very friendly. The food is excellent. The room was very clean and the pub down stairs has a pool table and outside drinking area and free parking.

We recently stayed here, as very close to Alton towers. We booked through agent, however when we tried to contact the inn, no one ever answered. The staff were a little clueless, however very polite, just seems they were just about getting by. Room was big, spacious, very stuffy though. Needs updating, especially the bathroom . Took me a while... More

This is the second time I have eaten here, this time with a new menu, last time was a basic menu as it had just reopened but the food was good enough for a return visit. Warm welcome at the bar from regulars and the staff, good choice of pub food on the menu and specials. My partner has the... More
