This hotel was booked for us for by our company. Once it was known to me where we'd be staying I did a trip advisor search to check out where we'd be getting our heads down. I saw the scathing reviews but thought it can't really be that bad. After finally parking the vans amongst all the littered beer cans... More

I do apologise if you were unhappy with your room our current reviews indicate the effort we are making since the handover I believe the guest arrived with preconceived ideas on the hotel so there was nothing I could do to resolve the matter I do hope we can resolve this matter internally. More

Stayed at the Crown Hotel this weekend 21st March. It is fair to say that the Hotel has seen better days and the decor could be described as tired. Our room was a family room, which overlooked the train tracks. We never heard a train at all, there is some traffic moving outside the front of the hotel you cant... More

Paying just £26 for a family room, I can have no complaints. There is a good car park at the rear. There is some beautiful old tiling around the entrance and nice wrought iron on the staircase. The member of staff who greeted me was very friendly and the booking I had made that morning through LateRooms had worked fine.... More

This could be a very long essay but if you are not going to read it to summarise, please do not stay here, it should be shut down on health and safety standards alone, sleeping in a car would be safer, more comfortable and cheaper! Really should have read the reviews before arriving, we wasn't expecting much for the price... More

Positives: The building had character with its winding staircase. There is a Tesco direct-you will need it! Good car parking facilities. Negatives: The room was a box room which was in dire need of decorating and they fitted a lumpy old double bed, single wardrobe draws and not very clean.....bad bad night trying to stop the springs digging my ribs!...
