What a great find. A beautiful, spacious apartment and very warm welcome from Vanessa and her staff who looked after us brilliantly without being overbearing! We didn't spend much time in the apartment due to having a cram packed two weeks but it was a perfect base; great location with restaurants and shops within safe walking distance and very safe... I was very fortunate to discover this amazing place to stay! Manicured gardens, stylish up to date accommodation and pleasant owners made this stay memorable. I had early starts every day and this more than provided for! I believe it is one of the finest accomodation options in Cape Town!

I recently stayed at the Sandown Lodge. The place is very nice, and nicely located close to University of Cape Town. I stayed in 2 rooms for my extended stay, and both were fine. There is laundry service available for ~$5 per (small) load. My one warning would be that you pay the full price upfront. I had the unfortunate... More

Our cancellation policy clearly states that if a booking is cancelled on the day of arrival or during the stay, the guest will be liable for the full booking fee. It is not easy for small establishments to fill rooms at short notice, especially during the quiet winter months. The guest did cancel the last 10 days of his stay... More

Located very centrally in Rondebosch ideal for the city, the beaches and easy to get to the airport this B&B is run beautifully by Vanessa. I messed up the date of our arrival but Vanessa accommodated us with no fuss and made the whole family feel very welcome. Good places to eat within safe walking distance. We would definitely stay... Hubby and myself stayed at the B&B at two separate instances. The accommodation is very highly recommended, it is neat, clean, modern, comfortable, accessible, moderately priced, great friendly service, wonderful surrounds. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, equipped with everything you might need, and if it does not have it, they will find it for you. We were made welcome... More

Deirdre - loved my few days at Sandown Lodge. Can highly recommend this B&B in Rondebosch, well situated for either tourist travel in CT or if you are there for business. The host - Vanessa - is really lovely and helps with the days plans or travel details (which was highly appreciated). The apartments are well equipped for self catering... More

After this stay I'll be looking at B&Bs more often as accommodation choice. Sandown Lodge was brilliant - very quaint grouds. It's situation in Rondebosch and an easy 10-15 minute drive to the airport and city. Close to a good shopping centre and many local tourist sites. The breakfast was fresh each day and the owners of the property were... More

We loved our week at Sandown Lodge, not only because of the beautiful house and the large, safe, enclosed garden, but also because of the feeling we got that our hosts were wonderfully generous. We arrived to find our little kitchen fully stocked. The fridge was full of fruit, cheese, jams, yoghurts, eggs and milk. The cookie-jar was full, there... More

If you are looking for a welcoming, friendly and peaceful holiday, then this is the place to stay! We travelled as 4 ladies, to visit a friend for their wedding in capetown - from Perth, Australia. We stayed here for 14 days and were in awe as soon as we walked in the front door. We had a hire car,... More

We were given Sandown Lodge's small annexe room which was small but adequate rather than luxurious hence the "average" rating. The bathroom was very small. Breakfast was in the main house where we understand the other, bigger B & B rooms are located. It's a 20 minute drive into Cape Town's Waterfront but it's handy for visiting Constantia, Kirstenbosch and... More

We have recently completed a building alteration to this guest room, extending the room and completely re-doing the bathroom which is now modern and much more spacious. More
