The accommodation is wonderful, a private oasis within the forest, the best bit was waking to the sunrise and bird calls each morning, with your private deck and the pool a bonus. Breakfast, well, what can I say. Fresh tropical fruits, local yoghurts and home made jams, and ofcourse the croissants, are awesome. Carmen adds the personal touches you dont... More

As soon as I opened the door to our private lodge I began to well up, the setting and views from the room words can not fully describe. My wife & I stayed here for 3 nights of our honeymoon and we had travelled for nearly 24 hrs from Tokyo so our arrival time was approx. 9am. Hiring a car... More

This lodge/retreat is extremely inviting, with small lodges overlooking the rainforest, the mangroves and out to the ocean. Each lodge is individually and tastefully decorated, and provides the guest with great comfort. Myself, wife, daughter, son in law and grandson all stayed here in 3 of the lodges. The gardens and pool area are well maintained, and a good and... More

The Daintree is a very special area and this lodge provides a unique view and experience of the rainforest. Our hostess was exceptionally kind and provided us with the best recommendations of tours and walks. A bonus was the frequent visit of Coco the cassowary and his three "teenage" chicks.

Staying at Cockatoo Hill was a real treat. It is gloriously situated looking across the forest to the coral sea and feels elevated and bright. The little studios are beautifully designed, elegantly furnished with a minimalist approach. The view from the bed in the morning feels like floating above the rainforest. Carmen is a gracious, informative and charming hostess who... More

Stayed at Cockatoo Hill Retreat for 3 nights. Carmen was awesome and certainly attends to every requirement or detail. I can see understand now why people rave about her. The rooms are great and provide an morning or evening view that is hard to beat, very romantic. Wildlife is abundant and we were even lucky enough to get a surprise... More

This place is uniquely beautiful and private. Your room has an amazing deck leading onto the tree tops with ocean views and an amazing vantage point to watch the sunset. As we wanted to make the best of the views and the place as it we spent more money on the accom than we normally would we brought some cheese... More

Cockatoo Hill Retreat is nestled in the most beautiful part of the world, in the canopy of the Daintree Rainforest. Breakfast is included and is fresh and healthy. Service is efficient and super friendly, and our host Sandra knows every tip in the region. We followed her advice on things to do, and had the best time. We even saw... More
