I took my colleagues to Kalvåg and we had a great time. Excellent food with a local touch. Outstanding atmosphere and friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back. The quality of the food is unexpected at such a small place and makes the experience extra special.

We had an overnight stay while travelling north along the coast from Bergen. This had been recommended as interesting and proved worth the deviation off the beaten track. There is old world and latest accommodation available - we were put in the just completed new "wing". It was comfortable and well finished, dinner and breakfast more than adequate (there are... When you start looking at the map of Kalvåg and plot out what is part of the Knutholmen hotel, you kind of get a feeling that it incorporates most of the town. It is somewhat sadening, knowing what once drove these old fishing villages forward. It was food production. Today, large trawlers have taken over that market. So, tourism is... More

We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening with a group of friends including two children. Everything was wonderful, the lobster soup, the seafood platter, the wine, the surroundings and most of all the staff. The service was first class and everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly. The owner, Sven is a especially welcoming and friendly and we wouldn't... More

From the reception of my first call through to checking out we experienced an attitude of friendliness and high quality. We arrived late (due to a hike in the mountains, to Hornelen) and was welcomed and upgraded to an apartment instead of a room with extra bed. The dockside apartment was very nice with a view to the entire harbour.... More

A definite stop place if you are at this side of Sogn og Fjordance, it does not matter how you come here, by car or by boat, this place will make you feel welcome and at home. Food at the restaurant is very fresh, service is awesome. Fishing here is great, you can catch lots of crabs and Makrel!!!

Lunch has an abbreviated menu, so it is best to arrive after 4:00 PM to enjoy the seafood platter and a greater variety of main dishes. Nevertheless, the fish is locally caught and extremely fresh. The service is friendly. The entire experiencw is relaxing, as thogh you were transported to earlier simpler times. Kalvag is a beautiful village at the... More

We visited Calvag and the restaurant Knutholmen as part of an excursion (cruise to the North of Norway). The owner is so enthousiastic and very proud of what he realised and explained clearly how he developed his property. The meal was a very good fish soup with bread. Maybe a little bit sober, but very tasty.

My husband and I went here for lunch while visiting family nearby. The fish soup was delicious and the salted cod brought back memories for my husband who grew up hours from here. The staff was polite and nice. Would definitely come back the next time we're around.

We stayed one night at Knutholmen, and I think it was excellent. Very good food, and a couple from Bulgaria played guitar and the man was very good to play his guitar. So I recommend this place very much:)
