We stayed one night at Knutholmen, and I think it was excellent. Very good food, and a couple from Bulgaria played guitar and the man was very good to play his guitar. So I recommend this place very much:)

Whether you are a foreigner or a Norwegian there are many reasons to visit this Knutholmen in Kalvåg. You are offered rooms in the old refurbished buildings around the little fishing village. It´s not hotel accomodation, but the large rooms are clean, have good beds and ok showers. Open your windows and you can taste the sea! After a walk around... More

We had 1 night at this hotel which contains a lot of different refurbrished houses/cabins around Kalvåg. The houses were nice and modern inside with good qualities and with nice seaview. Some of the houses were close to the reception. Some of them 400 meters away but wih the opportunity to park your car close to your seahouse. Kalvåg is... More

This is really not a hotel. Knutholmen is a restaurant to which people travel by boat and car for a good dining experience. The restaurant has arranged for rooms in town in refurbished homes, presumably formerly fishermen residences. Our room was definitely not four star, and probably not even three star, but it was the only way to stay in... More

We've been in Kalvag (family of four) at the end of july 2013. We slept and had diner at the Knutholmen. I suggest this accomodation for the following reason: - the location is very nice, right on the small port of Kalvag with a beautiful view on the sea; - the 2 rooms ew rent were both spacious, bright and... On arriving at Knutholmen, we walked into the building labeled "Main building" to check in. We couldn't find the reception desk, so we walked into the bar to ask. That was our first surprise: the bar was also the main office of the hotel. Knutholmen is located in a tiny Norwegian fishing village on a small Atlantic island. While it... More

This old fisherman village could host up to 12 000 people in the top seasons of herring fishing in the 40’ and 50’ths. Now about 800 people live here except for the busy summer season when this may be doubled. Most of the old fish warehouses are now housing Knutholmen Hotel and Restaurant, shops and art galleries. If you like... More
