This is a really great hotel that I would visit for pleasure for sure, I would stay here regulalrly if it wasn't so popular, the attached bistro is excellent food wise but I imagine too many stays here would leave you feeling like you had tried everything, and too many wouldn't need to be many to be fair as the... The hotel was developed on the back of the Red Lion Hotel and seems to only be a few years old. In time, the shrubs and trees they have planted around the pond and lawns behind the hotel will have developed but is all pretty new at the moment. Nice modern rooms, ours had a bath AND a shower. Comfortable... More

Travelled to The Peak Edge Hotel using a two day deal, B&B with an evening meal. The hotel and its location looked so good I took the chance and extended the stay for a further 3 days. It proved to be the right choice. My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The hotel is modern, clean and staffed with... More

Stayed for a couple of nights for a walking break with a bit of luxury. We had a Chatsworth break with tickets for the house and garden, which was very enjoyable, so well worth taking up this offer if it's available. We've stayed at this hotel before and were pleased with the standard of the accommodation, and we weren't disappointed... More

Stayed here in early May 2015 (bank holiday weekend). Our 2nd visit. First stayed in March 2011 (after they had just opened) Stayed this time on a Travelzoo offer for 2 nights b&b with one dinner package. Very nice clean and roomy. Very luxurious. All within easy reach of places like Chatsworth House (a must visit, spectacular place) Bakewell &... More

Just stayed the one night on a Dinner/bed and breakfast basis. Room was nice but lacked a bit of character. Walk in shower and separate bath was a nice touch. Dinner was very good - both food and service. Breakfast was less impressive - very under cooked poached eggs and sausages/bacon/bread etc were not particularly good quality. Earlier reviews have... Food was disgusting, four attempts at dinner on Friday night, ended up eating nothing. Breakfast on both mornings, took three attempts. Wedding lunch consisted tasteless ham terrine starter and stringy chicken for main. Say their chef has two rosette must have been for a gymkana because I can't believe it was for his food. At £6 a tot they make... More

Let me start by saying I wish I could award a 3.5 rating as the hotel was better than average. My wife and I had a Feature twin room which was a good size with a Juliet balcony overlooking countryside and a small lake but the lighting was poor and the A/C ineffective. We left it running for 3 hours... More

The Peak Edge Hotel is a classy, understated (as the best hotels are) well-run and comfortable hotel in a moorland location, high above Chesterfield on the B5057 road SW of Chesterfield just off the road from Chesterfield to Matlock. The staff stated that it was built/renovated 4 years ago which would make that 2011. Everything still looks brand new in... More
