This is my fifth visit to Norway and having stayed at numerous hotels I have to conclude that Norwegian hoteliers simply don't grasp the concept of hospitality. I've yet to rate a Norwegian hotel with more than 3/5 and from four hotels on this trip the trend continues. Don't get me wrong, Norway is a stunningly beautiful country and the... More

Pro’s Reception staff very friendly and supportive. The fisherman’s cabin we rented was comfortable, had a great view to the sea and the mountains. The rooms upstairs were nice, each with two single beds that could be also placed together and become double beds. Con’s The reception closes at some moment in time, I had to call a number to... Our family of 3 stayed one night at this wonderful Rorbuer. We LOVE every aspect of our stay. We arrived after their business hours so they left us a huge yellow envelope containing our room key, several pages of helpful information on the activities to do and maps of the town. How thoughtful!! The surrounding is simply out of this... More

We stayed here two nights while traveling with a large family group of 11 (6 adults and 5 children) through the Lofoten Islands. We stayed in three two-bedroom, two-story cabins. All three of them were nice and clean. We also found them to be more spacious than expected- especially by European standards. The location is great and the scenery is... More

We stayed for four nights in cabin 16. Simple kitchen, bathroom with shower, two bedrooms upstairs, TV with a few channels and sitting area, on the water. Breakfast is included, served in the hotel, and pretty good. We had dinner one night and I had what was meant to be the cod but they were out so it was char... More

You'll need a car and money to stay here; it's down a winding road off E10, near the aquarium. The cabins are spacious and clean, and the breakfasts plentiful and tasty. Kabelvag is not much of a town, but it is quieter than Svolvaer and makes a good base for exploring Lofoten.

We spent six nights in the Lofoten Islands, the first three here...significantly different experiences. We would not return to the other one (Eliassen Rorbuer Drift AS in Reine...check my review of it for more). The Nyvagar was outstanding. The fisherman cabin was what we expected...not at all elegant or upscale but what fisherman cabin is. But very clean. The beds... More

Enjoyed our recent stay here. This rorbu was well located in the small fishing town, Kabelvag. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin which was spacious, clean and cosy. It is located along a small fjord with beautiful mountain views. The bed was comfortable and the area was very quiet. Breakfast was a well appointed buffet that helped to nourish... More

I spent a weekend in Nyvagar in August 2013 with about 70 colleagues. It is a very good place for seminars and meetings. They have good meeting facilities, a big dining room and a cosy pub where the breakfasts were served. The staff is friendly and relaxed in the northern norwegian way.The food was very good. We had steaks, cakes and buffet! The light... More

After visiting Lofoten several times, I can with confidence say this is the best place to stay. You will get that genuine experience in the middle of the wild and spectacular nature, and at the edge of the mighty ocean. Still you are only a short walk away from the idyllically Kabelvåg village square. The food is of the highest... More
