My wife and I stayed at the Stein Inn on Skye for dinner B&B in early September 2010. From the car park we passed the back entrance to the kitchen which was dirty, with food debris on the floor. The stair carpet was grubby. We booked a small double bedroom, but it proved to be very cramped indeed, with insufficient... More

Again another perfect holiday at the Stein Inn. My wife and I stayed in the apartment again which is perfect for us, although in all the weeks we have stayed in it over the years we still cannot say if the cooker works as we both have the enormous Scottish breakfast and have the delicious daily varied evening meal! The... More

I have been coming to the Stein Inn for the past 17 years and have seen it grow and flourish. It has always been a must whenever I come back to Skye and now I have a young family we all enjoy a trip there with a guarantee of a good welcome and lovely food. Today was no exception. The... More

We thought it would be lovely to eat at the oldest Inn on Skye . The welcome in the bar was bad enough ....surly and unhelpful but the food and the service in the restaurant descended into high farce at times. I'm guessing that they have problems recruiting staff who have any level of competency and that is why we... More

You get what you see - comfortable Skye accommodation, good food on a menu which changes every day - which is much to their credit! The food is above par on pub grub. The cars pour in every day, and to be honest, so do the lack of manners - curt visitors expecting everything NOW! Having spent some time there,... More

We actually loved the Stein, even though we couldn't give it all the stars that some have. First off, the guy behind the bar shoudl be sacked. So cold & unfriendly when we checked in, and others staying there commented to us along the same lines. He was pretty couldn't care less on the phone when we booked as well.... More

We arrived late in the evening and as the fog was rolling in but it was easy to find this happening inn on Waternish Peninsula. We liked: -the view -the whiskey selection -the duck on the menu -the iPod charging dock -the proximity to the tannery (Skye Skins) The service was a little slow but we did not mind waiting... More

We just had dinner in the bar area. I had the prawns and chips, my husband had the sea bass. Our dinners were good and I loved the potato salad. My friend's fish and chips were not so great (the fish was dried out and overcooked--she had to leave half of it behind) but she liked the scallops and so... More

This is our 2nd time Actually staying in the Stein Inn as last year we didn't book early enough so couldn't get the dates but we still ate there. Once again our stay in Geary (the room) was faultless. The Stein Inn as an old Inn full of character, with excellent views, superb food and is just simply one of... More

Boooo to the unhelpful and patronising man who wouldn't let us take a cup of coffee outside so we could enjoy the beautiful view because HE felt it was too windy. We won't be back!
