Although the food on offer was reasonable if overpriced, the staff were dour, uninterested in providing anything like a friendly welcome. Do they not understand it is the customers who pay their wages. I found their disinterested stance an embarassment and bordering on the downright rude, especially when 'dealing' with foreign visitors. Why do people operate businesses so bad as... More

Stumbled on this pub quite by mistake. We hadn't been to this area on our previous visits to Skye and decided to go there and see if we could find a tearoom or a pub for lunch. We entered the pub and a couple of foreign visitors were being told by an extremely surly bar maid to find a table... More

We stayed here on a Friday night in a very spacious clean, warm and comfortable bedroom with the most amazing sea views having enjoyed a lovely bar supper of fresh fish downstairs. The room had an en suite shower room but no TV or telephone but there was Wi-Fi available in the bar. We enjoyed the most AMAZING freshly cooked... More

This is the oldest Inn on Skye. It is a cozy little restaurant bar with tremendous views. It is let down by average food which is a bit on the expensive side for bar lunches. The staff were all friendly, apart from the surly woman behind the bar. Try to arrive early at lunch time to avoid being at the... More

Not the best of welcomes by a surly barmaid however the waitress serving our crab sandwiches was very pleasant. A large family was seated on two adjoining tables and was invited by the barmaid to overspill onto ours ! .We had been told that this was one of the best pubs on Skye and it prooved to be very over... Spectacular setting on a very wild peninsular. Quiet and wild and very comfortable accommodation with great breakfast. Beautiful views across the Hebrides and Syke is a true paradise for walkers and those who love the outdoors.

We stumbled upon this quaint pub on our driving tour of Skye. We were told that it is the oldest pub on Skye. It's on the Main Street of a small harbour village - good views and scenery. We had and enjoyable lunch, with soup and ploughman lunch plates. The experience was great; service was self-serve at the bar by... More

My wife and myself thought we would go in to see what light lunches they had. It was rainy and windy too. We were so amazed by the crab sandwich we ordered. It has to rank as the best crab sandwich we have ever had. Other customers had good looking food as well. There were certainly no complaints. I must... More
