The haddock was dry, the cassarole was bland, but the service was nice and helped us in the choice of drinks (my recommendation: try the Black Skye Beer) and organized fast a table in the full restaurant. The view is fantastic, if you could sit at the window.

We stumbled upon this great find on Skye. Food was good standard pub grub, nothing special. The pub decor was rather dated like many others on Skye but none the less a good ambience with a good selection of ales. Amazing homely soup!! Staff very attentive and friendly. Worth a visit for a good standard of pub food.

I had read about the Stein Inn and was looking forward to calling in for a visit. The location is stunning but the welcome we received from the staff was non existent. My husband made a remark about the lovely weather but was completely ignored! We had called for a drink with the intention of checking out the menu for... More

We both had the 'special' fish and chips but were very disappointed. The 'salad' consisted of a few embarrassing dried up lettuce leaves only and no better than average cheap pub food at a higher price. Also had a kid's pizza which was clearly a cheapo straight out the freezer and microwaved on the plate, again very overpriced for what... More

During the last week of May this year, we spent five days at Stein Inn. This war our third visit to Skye on Skye soon again and our second stay at Stein Inn (first in 2011). There were many reasons to come back, and our expectations were completely met. First of all, the location is superb on the shores of... More

As the guide books recommended the Old Stein Inn for a lunchtime visit who were we to resist. The drive out to Stein was worth it alone. The Inn is an old stone building and you enter via the bar. We looked at the menu which was perfunctory and then were advised to check out the specials board. Wowza! There... More

After a long hike we fancied a pint, took a short diversion to the the Stein Inn. Sat outside on the benches overlooking the loch on a fine evening enjoying a good pint of local ale. Feeling a bit peckish we thought we'd have a look at the menu. We were a bit put off eating out again having already... More

Whilst on a family holiday to the Isle of Skye we decided to visit the Island's oldest Inn at Stein. We checked the website out and it stated dogs were allowed in until 6pm. The plan therefore upon arrival at around 5pm was to take our pet into the pub prior to putting her back in the car at 6pm... More

Stayed recently for 3 nights at the Stein Inn. What a little gem it is. Booked into one of the larger rooms having a fantastic loch view. The room was a good size and in first class condition as was the bathroom. The weather was great whilst there, so we were able to sit out and have a couple of... More

Wonderful location. Menu is basic but the portions are generous. Everything is well cooked and the drinks selection is impressive. Interior is dated without traditional charm. If it is basic pub grub with a decent pint or glass of wine, this will not disappoint.
