I took my old dad for his 70th birthday to the darts finals and we chose this hotel to stay in over the weekend. Unfortunately we had an absolute nightmare experience at this place. The bar area and car park was full of teenage lads, certainly not a place for families or anyone over the age of 30. There was... More

Picturesque pub on the banks of the Basingstoke canal. Popular in summer potters offers a blend of good dining in a very relaxing environment. Prices are reasonable. The inn has pool and darts & plenty of tv's for live sports etc. The accommodation looks decent which is across the car park type motel. Overall a good place to visit at... More

We booked for Sunday lunch and found the food pretty good but the restaurant was so cold we had to eat with our coats on. There was no atmosphere at all. A little Christmas music would have helped. We were the only people in the place which says it all. Could be a good place to eat but needs a... More

This place is okay to crash for a couple of nights but certainly no more than that. The rooms aren't over clean but I've stayed in worse. The staff seem disinterested when booking in, the TV signal seems sketchy and there is a general run down feel to the whole place. The blinds in my room were broken making in... More

Having lived in Mytchett for over 30 years we have used this restaurant on many occasions. I have seen it go from a busy, packed, family restaurant to a very male dominated sports focussed pub and now it seems to be a very low key, hardly ever used (even by locals), good pub food location. It is lovely in the... More

Dirty, smelly, noisy room opening right onto car park, more like a seedy motel rather than the quaint canal-side hotel the location has potential for. The bar had the air of a 1980s social club, and the dining area not much better. Only upsides were the food which was surprisingly good in the wider context of the place, and the... More

Pretty basic accomodation in an annexe building. Room on ground floor opened onto the carpark outside. The noise from neighbours drinking outside there rooms was quite substantial and invasive. The room was pretty basic and tired, theres really not much else to review, cheap accomodation at a hiked up price, dont think our room was worth what we payed. I... More

No sign of executive rooms..more like prison cells used in China. No room service. Extremely poor quality, hotel description and photographs are extremely misleading. Who ever dreamed up the description 'executive rooms' really needs to get out more.

We found this place online and thought we would give the food a try as we like trying different places. On arrival the whole place looked very tired and looked like it needed a makeover! It's very big and dark with no atmosphere whatsoever. The staff were all ok and pleasant enough, food was average. My husband and I both... More
