Stayed at the Pengethley over a weekend, great hotel, great staff, restaurant had good choice, sensibly priced. Local wine from their own vineyard completed a very enjoyable experience. Any problems were immediately sorted out by Gareth, excellent value, will certainly use them again.

We came to Pengethley for a two night - couple stay. I can;t speak more highly of the staff - from beginning to end, they were helpful, attentive and nothing was too much - the attention to detail was fantastic. Pengethley Manor is about 3 miles from Ross in Wye and is situated in a idyllic position with stunning views.... More

after attending a wedding there which we enjoyed in a lovely setting and had a nice meal on the day of the wedding we arose to be told the chef had not turned up and they could only provide cereals and toast, for what the rooms cost this was a total let down for everyone who was there.also certain guests were... Ours was just a one night stay. Our room 35 was in the courtyard. Decoration was tired but it was clean and well serviced, and everything worked. We had a good bar lunch on arrival after they allowed us to check in two hours early. Breakfast buffet was limited in choice of cereals to corn flakes or rice crispier, but... More

we attended a wedding here, the grounds are beautiful, perfect for romantic wedding photos! and the kids loved running around, plenty of bushes and trees to hide around, the marquee was okay, the floor was very unstable, but overall it seemed clean. The rooms inside the main hotel, was cleanand spacious, but the bathroom of room 3 was a big... More

Pengethley Manor is a beautiful building with lots of character. There is a lovely wooden staircase leading up to the first floor. As we walked towards our 'classic room' we passed some wonderful doors to some of the rooms and you could imagine the luxurious rooms behind them. Unfortunately the doors changed from wonderful to plain, basic white ones. As... More

We only stayed one night and we're lucky enough to stay in the bridal suite which was brilliant. We had a super meal the duck was the best I've ever had ! The bar stayed open very late for us to chat to some other guests. I'd. Highly recommend the Pengethy.

We were lucky to get the last room available. It was a superior room with a separate lounge area which had clearly been recently refurbished. Unfortunately the bathroom had not!! It comprised of a very dated mis matched suite & a very smelly shower cubicle which I was loathe to use. It would have been nice if we were warned... More

From the outside Pengethley Manor looks amazing: sweeping lawns, breathtaking views and a house fit for a period drama. Once inside all this changes. Our room was off the car park and accessed via a tired staircase with scaffolding, peeling paint and a smell of damp. We were awoken at around 7am to the sound of the cleaning staff swearing... More

I was looking for somewhere to stay last minute when visiting family. It was the cheapest hotel I could find bar a few premier and holiday inns with no character and it included breakfast! We arrived late and was upgraded to a four poster room which was beautifully decorated and clean. Tea, coffee, hair dryer, toiletries, ironing board all present.... More
