Gorgeous historic manor house, excellent reception & friendly service. Very good food, inventive menu. Restaurant offering candlelit section with epic views, or brighter lighting in antique library. Full of antique furniture & art. Cannot recommend highly enough, & cannot wait to stay here again. One of the very best. Outdoor pool, helipad, vineyard, expansive grounds, 4 poster bed.

Stayed for one night as part of wedding party. Lovely old house, full of character and old furniture, well maintained and clean. Very friendly and attentive staff, nice roomly bedroom & comfortable (though creaky!) bed. Staff could not have been more helpful. Wedding itself went without a hitch & food was excellent. I guess place could be a little quiet... More

This hotel is obviously being refurbished gradually but much more needs to be done - our stay was in July, in room 31 beside the laundry room. We have been assured by the manager following our complaint that this room will no longer be used for accommodation at present. The room itself was shabby, the bathroom clean but very mouldy... More

Situated in a rural location with good views across open fields, I found it to be a pleasant place to stay. It appeared to be well presented and there is plenty of car parking to the front. Check in was fine with a friendly receptionist. My room, no. 9, was a good size with comfortable double bed, desk, chair, dressing... More

We were in a room at the rear of the Main House and were kept awake from midnight to 3am by loud, foul-mouthed staff sitting in the decking area outside the bar discussing their lifetime experiences from relationships to war stories from the Congo to Iraq. My complaint to the Duty Manager in the morning was met with an 'apology'... More

My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception here at the weekend. It was perfect, from start to finish. From the planning stages, through to the actual event, the staff (without exception) could not have been more helpful. The chefs were marvellous - Robin, you are a star! The whole thing was accomplished, and reassuringly friendly. The hotel setting is... More

Stayed at the Pengethley over a weekend, great hotel, great staff, restaurant had good choice, sensibly priced. Local wine from their own vineyard completed a very enjoyable experience. Any problems were immediately sorted out by Gareth, excellent value, will certainly use them again.

We came to Pengethley for a two night - couple stay. I can;t speak more highly of the staff - from beginning to end, they were helpful, attentive and nothing was too much - the attention to detail was fantastic. Pengethley Manor is about 3 miles from Ross in Wye and is situated in a idyllic position with stunning views.... More

after attending a wedding there which we enjoyed in a lovely setting and had a nice meal on the day of the wedding we arose to be told the chef had not turned up and they could only provide cereals and toast, for what the rooms cost this was a total let down for everyone who was there.also certain guests were... Ours was just a one night stay. Our room 35 was in the courtyard. Decoration was tired but it was clean and well serviced, and everything worked. We had a good bar lunch on arrival after they allowed us to check in two hours early. Breakfast buffet was limited in choice of cereals to corn flakes or rice crispier, but... More
