We understand the current owners took over less than 2 years ago and their programme of improvements still continues. the dining/bar areas have already been upgraded as have the toilets and, although we were only there for a lunch, we heard that the bedrooms are being upgraded gradually, with some of them already having been completed. Our lunch was tasty... More

The hotel is in a quiet village but within easy reach from the A40. Good parking facilities. Room was nice and airy the weather was hot but windows opened. Food was good and service was excellent. The staff were able to answere our question about the village and history of the hotel. The reception on the TV wasn't very good... More

I recently stayed with my partner, mother and father in the fabulous village of Goodrich. My parents booked the cottage we stayed in for 7 nights and my partner and I joined them for 4 nights. On 2 of the 4 evenings we went out and ate at The Hostelrie. What a lovely place, excellent food and wonderful staff. We... More

What a find this hotel is, nestled in the quiet village of Goodrich. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were certainly well looked after. Aryton even cooked a special birthday breakfast for my wife. We had our evening meal there every night because they were so good and certainly very filling. We... More

Spent a very pleasant overnight stay here walking down the Wye Valley Walk with a friend. Very friendly welcome from the chatty landlord. Good choice of beers and ciders. Evening menu was nice mix of standards and more interesting fare, and reasonably priced. Room was comfortable and breakfast hearty. About a mile off the WVW but worth the extra footwork.... More

We were so pleased to find an "inn with rooms" that welcomed locals & visitors equally & enthusiastically - Ayerton & crew are great. But it is a small inn, not a large or medium hotel. The bar is part of a very old inn, with low beamed ceilings & lots of atmosphere; linked to this are the dining room... More

We stayed here the night before a friend's wedding, arriving late as we'd traveled a long way. The building is very impressive as you approach. The young lady who checked us in was friendly and we had a drink in the bar where the locals were also very friendly. Free wifi was a bonus. The room itself was clean and... More

Excellent night out, well organised event with ticket only access. The food was from a buffet which worked well and there was plenty of it so if you felt the need seconds was no problem. Live music in the bar and a disco in the function room, with attentive service from the staff keeping on top of clearing up and... More
