This hotel break was like a trip down memory lane. Do you remember the days when we were not constantly required to produce room numbers, money or cards at every turn? Our bill was settled as we checked out, just like the old way. Lovely. There was a problem with our room which we mentioned after the first night. this... More

I came here with my family and there is a great play area and lovely setting! i think the food was one of the nicest meals out I've ever had. I would say it was excellent. Absolutely delicious food, amazed this place isn't in the Good Pub Guide. Everything was delicious ! The duck leg with black pudding mash and... More

We stopped here for one night prior to a fantastic canoeing trip on the stunning Wye river and were given a very warm and friendly welcome. The hotel was very clean, as was our delightful double room (Castle). We opted to eat out, purely because we wanted to explore nearby Symonds Yat but had we stayed in for the evening... More

Had a two night break here recently - used it as a base for my husband to do some fishing - excellent base. We arrived before booking in time but were able to leave our bags and a very welcome coffee was provided. Friendly staff. Excellent food and reasonably priced (we ended up eating at the Hostelrie on both evenings... More

We understand the current owners took over less than 2 years ago and their programme of improvements still continues. the dining/bar areas have already been upgraded as have the toilets and, although we were only there for a lunch, we heard that the bedrooms are being upgraded gradually, with some of them already having been completed. Our lunch was tasty... More

The hotel is in a quiet village but within easy reach from the A40. Good parking facilities. Room was nice and airy the weather was hot but windows opened. Food was good and service was excellent. The staff were able to answere our question about the village and history of the hotel. The reception on the TV wasn't very good... More

On 2 of the 4 evenings we went out and ate at The Hostelrie. What a lovely place, excellent food and wonderful staff. We... More

What a find this hotel is, nestled in the quiet village of Goodrich. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were certainly well looked after. Aryton even cooked a special birthday breakfast for my wife. We had our evening meal there every night because they were so good and certainly very filling. We... More
