We stayed here the night before a friend's wedding, arriving late as we'd traveled a long way. The building is very impressive as you approach. The young lady who checked us in was friendly and we had a drink in the bar where the locals were also very friendly. Free wifi was a bonus. The room itself was clean and... More

Excellent night out, well organised event with ticket only access. The food was from a buffet which worked well and there was plenty of it so if you felt the need seconds was no problem. Live music in the bar and a disco in the function room, with attentive service from the staff keeping on top of clearing up and... More

We booked this for 7 couples for an overnight stay and dinner and as a start point for a walk in the area the following day. Everyone was delighted with the place. There is the friendly welcome and the rooms are comfortable and have recently been refurbished. The bar area has plenty of space and a great selection of ales... More

We stayed at the Hostelrie after visiting Cardiff to see the Rugby and found it to be a gem of a place and only a couple of minutes from the main A40. We normally stay in Monmouth but so glad our normal hotel was full as this is so much better. Lovely rural setting and our large family room opened... More

Beautiful countryside, great service and a wonderful array of local ales. So glad to have dropped in at the Hostelrie; Ayrton and Emily were fantastic hosts and dogs are welcome!! Such a fan of the family feeling and new restaurant. Really do believe this pub is going to go far when more people know about it. An absolute rural gem.

I booked this hotel for business as the reviews were in general very good. I have to say I agree I stayed for one night and the place did not disappoint. The hotel is in a very nice location and appears to be well maintained. My room was excellent and I was well looked after. I ate in the hotel... More

Good pub grub, good sized portions and well cooked vegetables. Steak and mushroom pie with excellent pastry, burger with salad & chips. The best bit was the damson ice cream. Play area outside for children.

Stayed at The Hostelrie for 2 nights in October. All the staff were welcoming and hospitable. The food was very good with an extensive choice, all home made, and there were lovely real ales to try. The room was comfortable, warm and lovely soft towels were provided along with individual toiletries. The B&B rate is very reasonable, with a full... More

Met with friends for a 2 night stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and seemed to enjoy their work. Rooms clean, well equipped and comfortable. The price for room and food, with excellent breakfast was very reasonable. The local area has so much to offer for a holiday.
