We upgraded to a cabin which was perfect for the two of us and two dogs. We still had the camping experience but without the hassle of setting up a tent and sleeping on the ground. The campground was clean, the hosts were helpful, and it was all dog-friendly. It would also be great with kids.

It was May, I was looking to book a campsite for August somewhere in Big Sur. Apparently, if you want to book a State Parks campsite you have to book months and months in advance. I did not do such a thing. In a panic, I found Riverside Campground and Cabins, they only had one tent site left and I... More

Wonderful place to chill in Big Sur. creek side RV site was perfect size. Staff set us up and are very accommodating. Granddaughter 4yrs old who is water shy felt safe in the gurgling pond. She made friends right away. Country store had all we needed. Witnessed camp office calling around others sites to help a mother and daughter find... More

In summer it s hard to find a space in the Big Sur. We stayed here 3 nights and it was just great. Peaceful, tranquild. We stayed in Cabin 5. Windows on all sides and two very comfortable beds. Every evening dinner on the firepit. Little river water running in the background. Reception and general store staff were very helpful.... More

Riverside Campground has very few reviews, so it's difficult to determine whether the sample of ratings is due to the fact that, most of the time, disgruntled folks are the ones who review a place. We only stayed at RCC because we had family staying there. The next time we stay there it will be because of a wonderful experience.... More

Stayed overnight in Cabin 4 and @$150 was amazing good value. It's rustic but clean and cozy. Most comfortable beds....just as good as 5-star hotel. Cabin 4 does have shared walls and they are quite thin. Our neighbors were pretty quiet though so we were lucky. I can't say enough about the great staff...During an evening thunderstorm ,McCall(I think) brought... More

We recently spent 5 nights at a cabin at Riverside Campgrounds along with our 2 year old dog. The cabin itself can feel small but can't complain about that as it's soo pretty. The place is situated close to markets and restaurants in the area. All the cabins seemed occupied. Many families were camping by the creek that runs just... More

What a beautiful place. I was grateful for the warm and friendly welcome/check in experience we had. After the long drive on Route 1 we were so glad to arrive to relax. The grounds are impressive, there's a river, a small foot bridge (I don't think it's in use) an adorable camp store with everything we needed and great cabins.... More

Admittingly we are not campers. Alas we pitched a tent in this very user friendly campsite with some friends who invited us. Ok, easy to find and kind of intimate and exclusive (at least as much as a campsite can be). You cross a small river and either check into your cabin or go to your campsite. The cabins are... More

We just returned from camping trip at the riverside and it was an awesome experience! The place is beautiful , our tent was by the big Sur Creek and kids could play in the water right next to the tents. The Camp staff and the Store clerk ladies were both VERY helpful and nice and not at all like it... More
