All accommocations in the Big Sur seem overpriced and this was no exception, however we had a nice stay. They have a very nice, though once again expensive, restaurant. Would like some facility for making coffee rather than having to wait for the restaurant to open for the complimentary breakfast (which was really excellent).

This hotel has got to win awards for its setting. Right on the cliff, facing out to the ocean, the morning mist, you couldn't ask for much more. The rooms are comfortable, not luxury, but perfectly adequate. The staff were friendly and welcoming. And the restaurant was good enough - there's not much else around to compete. Yes, it is... More

We stayed two nights at this lodge, and ate in the restaurant both nights. It is convenient, perfect location, and although very expensive a great place to stay to enjoy the beautiful Big Sur area. If you were to be picky you might discover faults with some of the features, but you'd be missing the point. This is an old... More

I was a little skeptical of this place after reading some of the reviews, but the time I spent there were amazing and I simply can't understand some of the complaints. My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights on our way down to PCH from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We stayed in Cabin 9. The cabins were built... More

We stayed in cabin 2 and found it to be fine. A similar view to cabin 10 can be taken literally outside that cabin, or even up the hill above the cabins. We definitely thought it was not worth the extra money to stay in cabins 7-10. The lady on check-in was very nice and helpful, and provided us with... More

We stayed in room #9, every bit as good as #10 on location without the extra cost. Actually, rooms 7 - 10 are all great. I wouldn't choose 1 - 6 and would avoid 5 & 6 completely as they do not face the coast. The location is worth every penny. We arrived early, brought our own bottle of wine... More

This wasn't our first choice of places to stay when we were planning our road trip down Highway 1, but it had rooms available so we booked for two nights - one night in an ocean view room and one in a mountain view room. The first night we had cabin number 8. Whilst it did overlook the ocean the... More

Beautiful location and nice staff... The walls are probably made of painted cardboard. I have average hearing and could hear everything in multiple rooms adjacent to mine. Every word, breath and all. Other peoples snoring will keep you up all night. Very poor construction, and even mold in the bathroom. They will charge you a lot, for their average meals... More

As many other reviewers have pointed out, there aren't too many other lodging options in the stretch of PCH where you'll find Lucia Lodge. But that sense of isolation only adds to the experience. My wife and I stayed in cabin #10, and while it certainly wasn't a perfect visit, overall we were pleased with the accomodations and felt it... More

These cabins were built in 1937 and rustic. They are in a remote location so they deserve to be priced higher. If you elect to stay there these facts are a given. However, do not be duped into paying more for Room 10, the "Honeymoon" suite. We paid $300 for a night in Cabin 10. What a mistake! If your... More
