Looks very charming from the street, however closer inspection (AFTER paying $150US) reveals a bedspread (probably purchased at Walmart in the 90's) with multiple rips and tears, a shower head that released very little water, a hair dryer (purchased at the same Walmart, same year) that's power button could only be found INSIDE the dryer, along with the electrical wires.... Because we ran out of daylight and were tired, we ended up having to stay in Gorda Springs. The motel was right along the highway. Would not recommend this to anyone. We got a room for $167 with no free breakfast, no fridge, no microwave, no television, no wifi service, no working jets in the bathtub, no hair dryer, but... More

Not sure if 1 star is to high Don't stay here if you want a quiet room. The walls are so thin you can hear the neighbours breathing, the rooms have no phone no tv no internet no mobile phone reception no water pressure no aircon no windows that open no comfy beds and the front desks tells you there's... We had not realised it was Labor Day weekend and needed to book 3 nights in the Big Sur. I literally tried every other place and this was the only place with availability as you can only book on the morning of your arrival. As mentioned by other reviewers, it is quite far south, so cannot really be considered 'Big... More

We were sooo grateful to get a cabin last minute since all of Big Sur was booked down to San Simeon. We asked for their smallest cabin and got the Little Palm or Palm II room. It was almost half the price of the other rooms and it was fantastic!! The room was cozy with a coffee maker, soft bed... More

I love this place. It is on a stretch of coastline above Cambria and Ragged Point at the South end of Big Sur, and there is no electric grid through here. You will be shocked at how much better you sleep and feel when your electricity is from a generator - not wireless microwave pulse radiation which powers most of... More

Yes it's rustic (no TV or phones), and a bit south to actually be in Big Sur, but my kids (ages 6 and 14) loved the small village feel and seeing whales swim by. We arrived very late (9pm), and there were potential guests waiting for our room in case we didn't show up. The manager had kindly kept the... More

We went there in hopes to enjoy the ambience of driving highway 1. When we got there we were tired and decided we needed to to rest. The view is beautiful. And that is the only thing. The rooms needed updating, dirty carpets, cobwebs visible. Sheets had stains on them. No phone, no tv and not even a coffee maker... More

So far I still do not know whether or not we'll be staying at this place. First phone call was answered by a lady who was barely polite and told me to call back after 3pm since nobody was available to take a reservation or even tell me if there were any vacancy. Called back around 4pm, talked to a... More
