Book this hotel well ahead. Be sure to go to the Hotel's web site and view the map with the cabin locations. If you can, get a cabin with a deck... looks over the tiny but beautiful river, which is bordered by huge evergreen trees. Stunning. Makes you wish you could paint! Cabins are cozy but comfortable enough. It feels... more

We stayed in Cabin #9 right next to the river. The first thing I noticed was how well kept the grounds and cabins were. The inside of our cabin was nearly spotless, the bed was clean and comfortable, and you can't beat the view of the trees and river from the deck outside. The kitchen had the basic utensils, gas... more

Absolutely wondeful! Very quiet, right near the river (Cabin 5) and just perfect! The interior was adorable and very clean, supplied with plates, dishes and utensils for two. I would highly reccommend this place, especially for the price. more

The Ripplewood resort was quite rustic. Our only problem was we chose the worst cabin (the duplex) because we thought it would be convenient since we were traveling with another couple. They had several cabins on the river which were bigger and probably nicer. The cabin was clean, but the bathrooms were strange. Our friends shower was TINY and the... more

We stayed there on Jun 1-3, 2007. From the look of cabins on internet, they are old and rusty. The price is reasonable. We have two families and booked cabin 10 and 14. After we checked in, we found both cabins are very clean. Since I have 2 small children under 6 and we play hide and seek all the... more

If you are looking for a rustic cabin in a beautiful quiet setting, this is your place. While it is not facing the ocean, cabins are set right along the river which you can hear while sleeping at night. Decks face the river for quiet contemplation. We had a small cabin for 2 people with a full kitchen and bath.... more

My family and I just got back from our spring break stay at Ripplewwod Resort in Big Sur, Ca. We were looking forward to spending time with our two sons ages 12 and 9 in the in the beautiful surroundings with no TV, phone, computer, cell reception, or video games. It was just what we wanted and the boys did... more

This is a nice set of rustic cabins right in the heart of big sur. They are simple cabins with mixed dishes/utensils. We rented three. One had a fireplace, the other two had back porches. I slept well, but my husband had a hard time because he could hear the heater turn on and off. There were some cabins that... more
