We stayed here over the 4th of July holiday. The campground is very clean! The bathrooms were nice & were cleaned frequently during the night & day. The kids loved tubing on the river. The tubes can be rented for a few dollars right in the campground. There is plenty of room on the sandy shore for the adults to... More

For $212 a night, I expect more than a mobile home with views of a basketball court and utility buildings. Unfortunately, this is what we got at the Big Sur Campground. The "cabins" are actually mobile homes, crammed together, in an area that looks more like a white-trash mobile home park than a VERY expensive campground. The outdoor area for... More

We stayed at one of the cabins with equipped kitchen over this past weekend and it was a very positive experience. When we first stepped into the living room we immediately felt comfortable. The cabins have been nicely remodeled and maintained. The cabin seemed new. It's clean and heater works very well (the air tends to be cool in the... More

I love the peacefulness, and the beauty. definately must get reservations. ssshhhh. dont tell too many people about this secret haven!

I was lucky enough to find this spot 3 years ago, and am booked through 2009. It is a wonderful place. Yes, you are close to each other, but if you are camping with kids, it's awesome. They have a playground, and baketball court. You are right on the river and you can rent a tube for the whole day... More

Where to begin... This place is terrible. FIRST and foremost, the other review with the title "Packed in like Sardines" is aptly titled. There is barely enough room for the trees in between the hodge-podge of cars, trucks, RV's mondo-tents, silly cabins, and misplaced amenities. We found their site via the internet. We tried numerous times the week before arriving... More

If you want to getaway from life in the big city and all the stress, Big Sur is for you! Located 65 miles north of beautiful Cambria and 26 miles south of Clint Eastwood's Carmel. Not to be confused with Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, which is 12 miles south and provides no places to take showers. It is a park... More

I recently stayed here with my husband for a mini mid summer vacation. Although I was not sure what to expect I was pleasantly surprised. Being new to camping we opted to "start slow" and stay in one of the small cabins on the property. I could not believe how nice it was! The bed was very comfortable, the room... More

My husband and I camped there on Memorial weekend, 2004, and were very disappointed with the camp spot. Neighboring campers were practically sitting in our laps, along with their dogs and children. It's definitely not the place to go if you want a peaceful experience under the stars. There was absolutely no privacy. We were able to switch to a... More

The cabins are fabulous. The trees reach up to the sky, and the stars are like glitter at night. A perfect way to get away from it all. Next store is a general store, restaurant, gasoline, and anything else you need. Very refreshing.
