Admittedly, we arrived at the campground one day after a rainstorm, so the fact that the campsite was extremely muddy is not really their fault. However, there were sitting puddles of water (even after a couple days w/out rain), which could have been avoided with more regular maintenance on the part of the owners / managers. We found that the... More

This looks like a refugee camp. The owners are of course trying to maximize their profits by cramming as many people as possible into this very small campground. Kids wouldn't know the difference; it's the parents who have to adjust to the situation and tolerate the stress of the incredible overcrowding. It's a huge shame, but that's how it is.... More

This is the 5th time I have stayed here though the 1st in about 16 years. I have tent camped, used a cabin and stayed in the A Frame for my honeymoon 23 years ago....and everytime it is the same...clean, friendly and peaceful. This year there were landslides etc and so they honored an off-season price which they certainly did... More

The worst thing about the big sur cabin and campgrounds was that we only stayed 1 night! We stayed in a tent cabin that was right on the river. I was surprised we liked this as we are not outdoorsy people but it was so much fun. Tubing on the river was great. In the night we bought marshmellows from... More

My partner and I travelled from Los Angeles up to San Fransisco on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), and decided that a mini-break at Big Sur would be an ideal way to rest and recuperate...and we were right! It was the quintessential cabin getaway, with a river running through the bottom of the campground, right near our cabin. It was... More

Too expensive - $40 for a tent site. Too noisy - people in a cabin near by came to the cabin after midnight and kept yelling and slamming doors for a couple of hours - the campsite host should take care of disturbances like these but nobody did. Extremely poorly ventilated! I have never had an issue with that before... More

This place was awesome. We stayed here for 2 nights after hostelling/motelling/hotelling around Central California. We booked a tent-cabin, being on a budget, but of all the places we stayed, even in terms of value for money, this was the best. We camp frequently, i.e tent, sleeping bag, camp-stove etc in the UK and were expecting the same but more... More

We booked a night in a cabin here and were grateful to find it as the rest of Big Sur seemed full up. The cabin was well appointed and scrupulously clean, and the camp ground had every amenity and a great community feel. At over $400 a night it was not great value, but in high season in such a... I don't know what is up with people who live in big sur . One would think that nature would ground these poor souls, but instead, they're SO lost in their hazeee cloud heads. These people are SO rude. Their policies are unbelievable . Attitudes suck, prices unreasonable . The only thing is the natural god given beauty of the... More

I just returned from a 6 night stay at big sur campground and cabins. I wanted to share info with potental campers. My family and I rented two tent cabins numbers 97 and 98. These tent cabins are clean and very comfortable to sleep In. I am extremly happy with our stay here. I would recommend booking both sites if... More
