Found it to be a well run campground (cannot comment on the cabins). We had a lovely site overlooking the river, and found the staff to be friendly and helpful The bathrooms were in good shape as well. Altogether, we could have spent more time here than we did. The village is charming, and well worth any time spent there.

For a weekend getaway I've stayed here twice --- once in the summer when families were dominant, a bit Jellystone Park-like with so many children discovering all there is to enjoy in the park. My second visit was a wonderful, quiet, mid-week retreat with my wife and the serenity of the park and the cordiality of the staff made it... More

We liked the site a lot. Right in the middle of the red wood trees. Big sites and nice facilities. The welcome was good a nice lady at the gate that helped us and showed us places of interest. The good thing is that the gate is manned from 8 till 8, unlike a lot of campsites we went to,... More

Our family has camped here for the past 4 years and loved it. The campground itself is clean and family friendly. This last trip however we were shocked to find a $20 increase per site. Along with the additional car and people fees the cost per site came out to over $100 a night. I made our reservations last year... More

We drove Highway 1 and chose this place to stay for 2 nights in Sept. It was absolutely wonderful! Better than I imagined it would be. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The cabins are also very very clean and comfortable. We were in #70 which was a good spot...close to entrance, river and laundry facility. There is a... More

We really enjoyed staying here because it was a nice surprise to suddenly be in the redwoods. We drove down highway 1 through cold, foggy, cloudy (which we also loved ) skies to vibrant, bright blue skies with majestic redwoods reaching out to touch them. It was a spontaneous decision to stay and that adds to the fun. After our... More

Driving highway 1 we spent one night in the camping cabin looking forward to the see through ceiling on the cabin. Although the ceiling was not as see through as I had hope, we could see the glow of the stars. The river was just steps away from our deck and fire pit. Looking up in the silence of the... More

Hard to leave. That's the best phrase to describe this place. We've stayed in the cabins on two separate occasions; one of the two-beds, and then a single, and both times they were excellent. Quiet campground, lovely amidst the redwoods, the place has new cabins facilities, clean, well-maintained. Will be back over and over -- one of my favorite places... More

I recommend avoiding this spot, and here's why: the customer service and management are awful. Buyer beware: once you hand over your credit card, forget getting any satisfaction if you have a problem with a cabin's facilities! The cabins are very expensive and you'll be required to put down a deposit first and then to pay in full when you... More

I stayed here with my wife for the weekend as we were attending a wedding in Big Sur. We stayed in a cabin, which was pretty nice and spacious. We were not here to camp, but got to see enough of the grounds to get a sense of the camping experience at the location. It is a fairly crowded place... More
