Glen Oaks Big Sur is a textbook example of how an older motel can metamorphose with the help of a great designer and construction team. The facility consists of a motel on the east side of Hiway 1 and riverside cabins across the street. The grounds' lush landscaping blends seamlessly with the surrounding native flora. The basic construction of the... More

A hidden gem on the coast! greet location and rooms; friendly service The restaurant across the street is a MUST. We wanted a stop mid way to relax and accessible to hiking trails, purple sand beach and all other BIg Sur landmarks; we certainly found it

It was a quaint place to stay and fit in with the Big Sur setting. Room rates, as others have mentioned, are high for what you get. But given that there's not much to choose from in Big Sur, it's probably your best bet for economical lodging. I would like to return in during cooler weather, because I think they're... More

Our stay at the Glen Oaks lodge was wonderful from the minute we arrived. Andrew set up our stay efficiently while we drank free ice tea in the lobby. Our room in the motor lodge was retro chic, with heated bathroom floors and a luxurious shower. We ended up eating dinner at the Roadhouse Grill, which is owned by Glen... More

Just stayed one night at this mod 1960's era roadside inn. Very warm and cozy room with fireplace and nice sitting area. Bathrooms are more contemporary with high end fixtures and GREAT heated floors. Didn't have alot of time to reply explore much more of the hotel grounds. We did eat at the hotel resteraunt. The food at dinner was... More

I can't describe well enough the hospitality and kindness of the staff at Glen Oaks. From check-in, to housekeeping, to the staff at the Big Sur Roadhouse...stellar and professional. This was our second year staying here, and we were thrilled with our accommodations (Little Sur Cabin). The accommodations are modern, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. If you are considering somewhere to... More

Though the location is good, the accommodations are not worth the expense. We stayed in one of the cabins and, though you are in the woods, I do not expect to have to kill as many large spiders as we did during our stay at those prices. They need to allocate more resources to pest control. Also, we stayed at... More

I really enjoyed staying at Glen Oaks. It's in the middle of Big Sur, centrally located, and is really quaint. It definitely is expensive, like most of the hotels in Big Sur, but it's more affordable than most, especially for someone looking for a nicer hotel cheaper than $500 bucks. The rooms are very nice, very modern, and very well... More

I never got the opportunity to stay here, as our plans changed and we are not able to experience the Glen Oaks. I have been coming to Big Sur for over 50 years, staying in everything from a tent to the Ventana Inn. This is the first time I've incurred a $30 dollar charge for canceling a reservation. I made... We stayed at the Motor Lodge part of the property, which, for our purposes, was a great choice. We were planning on spending most of our days out and about hiking, so all we needed was a cozy and comfortable place to relax after a full day out, and this place was perfect! The styling is pretty modern but still... More
