If you are driving along the Pacific Coast Highway then we thoroughly recommend that you stop in at the Post Ranch Inn. - Fantastic location - The views from the restaurant are awesome. You are perched high above the coast and if you look hard enough you will see whales in the ocean - We just stopped for a drink... More

We spent two very relaxing days in a Coast house at the Post Ranch Inn on a package deal which included an hour-long massage and a dinner at the Sierra Mar restaurant. The setting is stunning - amazing Pacific views, wooded grounds to explore, heated basking pools (almost deserted when we were there and perfect for a quick dip on... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Post Ranch in April. It is by far the most beautiful place I know on the West Coast. Service, amenities and setting are impeccable. It is expensive but the number of stuff per guest and quality of everything easily justifies it. We stayed in a tree house that I think is better designed than... More

this place is gloriously sited- it could not be more beautiful! and the service is great .However where oh where are the taste police- there is a sculpture cluster "[--]" by the restaurant and why? - nothing would be best- plus a water feature right near by- and when you check in, get a load of the sculpture up the... Hopefully can book lodging here on a future trip to fully enjoy property. Last week's coastal journey did not allow that, but we enjoyed a lovely drink at sunset in exquisite restaurant setting. Serendipitously drove up to visit property, and wonderful security man suggested we drive in and haveva bite at the bar. Only downside: could not pull myself away... More

If you can't be awed here, you are incapable of awe-ing! This is a hotel that perches on the tip pf Big Sur, with mind-blowing beauty. They cuple that with the best designed accommodations I have ever seen, and top it off with top-drawer, friendly and welcoming taff. You leave your car in a lot near reception and they drive... We were notified of the existence of this hidden treasure, by a sympathetic old men at S. Francisco. He told us it was a hotel in a incredible place, a balcony over the Pacific, but with a problem: too expensive! However, lunch was not! The truth is that Big Sur is already incredible, but finding this treasure within the treasure... More

From the moment we drove in to Post Ranch Inn and the attendants met us at the car and called us by name it was magical. The setting is unbeatable, high on the cliffs above Big Sur while still nestled in amongst the redwoods. We were offered champagne while we waited for our bellman to drive us to our room... More

we had a magical time at the post ranch a while back now. just started writing reviews on tripadvisor but thought it was worth going back to cover this as it was absolutely spectacular. everything from the views, the infinity pool perched over the pacific, the food (outstanding) and the grounds were out of this world. If you were to rate... We live in Pebble Beach and took our international visitors to lunch here today. It was a 10/10 day, whales migrating North, sparkling sea and a superb luncheon and wines (Hanzell 2009 Chardonay - one of the top whites made in USA). I have been to a lot of exotic places and I've eaten in many good restaurants around the... More
