First of all staying at this hotel was a difficult decision, as yes it is very expensive, however after buckling down and making the decision to stay there I believe it was worth every penny. I decided to stay in a tree house room, and was pleasantly surprised that I had both an ocean view and a mountain view. A... More

I was skeptical because of the high price, but left very satisfied. Stayed in an ocean view room and the tree house, both very unique. The service is top notch, they even loaned us a convertible lexus to drive down the coast. Beautiful property - brought a lot of peace to my hectic life.

Originally booked for two nights - could not bear to leave so added a third (will worry about the credit card some other time). This is the most special place. A magical combination of stunning scenery, genuinely helpful staff (no throw away 'have a nice day' here) and good food. A few nights at Post Ranch is worth two weeks... More

Before arriving, I was a bit concerned about the "attitude" problem that a few negative reviewers here mentioned, especially as we stayed in one of the "cheaper" rooms (well, 650 dollars / night, but in PRI terms that is cheap). However, from the moment we arrived and till the moment we left, everything was perfection. The staff, the room, the... More

Drove the Big Sur marathon route before the race and saw yellow unbrellas through the green foliage and had to check it out. Post Ranch! We made late lunch reservations for after the marathon and are glad we drive back from Carmel to eat there. With fantastic views you do not need good food. But PRI restuarant has great dining... Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner in a mountain house room. This was our first time visiting the property and we were not disappointed. Yes, the rates are expensive, but the inn is worth every penny. The staff is attentive, friendly and go out of their way to deliver great customer service. For example, when my partner asked... My wife and I stayed at PRI in 2008 in the Dani room middle butterfly. Many other reviewers have accurately described the property details of many of the unique accommodations offered. Do your homework on the room that's right for you. Let me offer my experience. Upon arriving and receiving complimentary wine and being chauffered to our room we were... More

We just returned from another stay, this time in an Ocean House. Please see my previous review for a more detailed assessment of the rest of the resort and to put this one in context… Thoughts on Ocean House It was fun to spend some time in a new room type for us here and discuss the pros/cons of the... I was very worried that the Post Ranch might not live up to the hype. I had nothing to worry about. We booked one night in the middle butterfly room ($625) and lower butterfly room ($575) about 9 months ahead of our trip via email direct with the hotel. The booking was easy. On arrival we we're greeted with a... More

I have visited and stayed at THE POST RANCH INN many times over the years and I am never disappointed. It has one of the most beautiful locations I have ever experienced. It is quiet and peaceful and an ideal place to just relax and enjoy. I was there with my lady friend for a three night stay in late... More
