Arrival for dinner was timed to enjoy a drink before sunset. No two sunsets are ever the same and when one tires of glorious sunsets, one tires of life. Life's good when one's dining with a loved one at one of the most romantic spots on the Californian Coast. The food is almost secondary.

We spent two nights at the Post Ranch Inn during our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived we knew this place was something special. Tucked away just off the I1 of Big Sur, the Post Ranch Inn occupies almost 100 acres, consisting of beautiful forest and dramatic coastline. We stayed in the Butterfly Room, a beautifully designed villa with spectacular... More

We stayed at Post Ranch following a business conference in Monterey. Post Ranch is a spectacular hour and a half drive south of Monterey. From the welcome to our depature all aspects of Post Ranch met, or exceeded expectations. And for the $$$, our expectations were very high. We booked Boronda Tree House. Boronda has a beautiful view of the... More

Post Ranch Inn is one of the most magical places I have ever stayed. Perched high on the cliffs of Big Sur, the views are breathtaking. This is one of the most unique hotels I've ever visited, in a great way. They have 39 rooms in total, each one slightly different than the next. We stayed in one of the... More

We were given a gift certificate to the inn (by our lovely kids!) and spent two nights here. As you probably know it's VERY EXPENSIVE, probably the most expensive place I have ever stayed at. The best things about it are: - the wonderful location and views - the exceptionally friendly and helpful attitude of everybody on staff - the... More

We spent two nights of our honeymoon in an upper cliff house room. It is without doubt very expensive, and we deliberated beforehand as to whether or not it would be worth it. I think the answer to that is definitely yes, it is truly a once off incredible experience. The level of service is unparalleled from the moment you... More

My wife and I stayed in the Roberts ocean view room for two nights in early June. Overall experience was A+. Service by the staff was anticipatory and thoughtful. Everything stated in prior reviews is accurate. If you are struggling on your choice of a room, just know that all rooms are great. You can't go wrong. Although you should... More

This is a spectacular property -- unique architecture, gorgeous views, quiet, great walks, wonderful pools. The restaurant overlooks the Pacific and serves a fabulous breakfast. At dinner , however, the menu features a $125 four course menu. Not wanting that much food, we picked either 2 starters or a starter and an entree. Much to our surprise, since individual prices... I think it is the most exclusive place in Big Sur and certainly one of the most exclusive of the entire California. What is most striking is the resort's architecture and the design of each detail in general, really charming and surrounded by nature. The restaurant with large windows seems suspended a few hundred feet over the ocean, the view... More

Our arrival, from champagne at reception to personal note in our room, set the stage for a a dreamy escape! Breathtaking views in all directions; privacy with seductive enclaves to tempt you to do anything...a restaurant to knock your socks off with an unforgettable expanse of the Pacific below (book your reservation with daylight views) and cuisine and wine list...
