Their eggs Benedict is superb 👌 my husband and I ate breakfast here twice and it was amazing! Their nook is so adorably cozy and is perfect in it's own way. It is located near an incredible gorge that is breathtaking.

My wife and I spent a night here on our way up the Pacific Coast Highway. We stayed in the Honeymoon room. When we checked in we were told that there was "no cell signal, no wifi, no internet" which was exactly what we needed. The furnishings were definitely very traditional and rustic featuring antique furniture. The bed was comfortable... More

Spent a wonderful evening, had dinner at the restaurant, lovely fire in the room and wine on the balcony. Hiked the road behind the Inn in the AM. Had a beautiful fluffy orange cat show us the way. It was Magic. This is truly a very special place.

We stayed at Deetjen's a few years ago because it was the only place we could find in Big Sur that looked good and didn't cost a fortune. We weren't disappointed - the rooms were comfortable, the restaurant was delicious, and the rates were affordable. We to make a return visit soon.

My wife and I loved Deetjens. Very unique spot, the restaurant is excellent, probably the best meal we had on our trip. The Castro Cabin is small but cozy. Very nice staff, would love to return again. Do the short walk up to the bench with great view below.

If you want to get away from it all this is it. No phone service, TV, or wifi and certainly relaxing and quiet. There are so many great places to hike and sightsee nearby this is a great central point. The restaurant is also excellent with great service. Just don't bring a big car as the parking areas can be... More

We recently stayed in the Chateau Fiasco and had a wonderful experience. Everything about this place was exactly what we wanted in a visit to Big Sur. The service was excellent (checking in and the restaurant), our room was large and cozy, and I loved waking up to the sounds of the birds chirping in the mornings. Several people commented... More

My wife and I stayed one night at this charming, rustic, amazing, romantic, unbelieveable property. I could go on. This place embodies everything that Big Sur is about. A beautiful location that contains a perfect mix of nature, florals, natural elements and a spiritiual calm to it all. All of the cabins and the rooms seem to be perfect. Each... More

Like most people we stayed one night here whilst driving the Pacific Coast Highway. We had the "Little Room" which was actually larger than expected and was in great condition considering it's in the oldest building on the premises, and a relative snip at $115 a night. The shared bathrooms were absolutely fine, not the best or biggest but perfectly... More

We stayed in 'Faraway'. Wow. It's basic. But wonderfully so. We were warm, peaceful, well fed and comfortable. Don't expect plush or pretentious but do enjoy the quiet and the highly unusual surroundings. Eat if the restaurant. The evening meal was fabulous. Eggs Benedict in the morning is to die for. If you travel with a baby, make sure you... More
