This a truly charming place to stay even if a bit quirky. My wife and I chose to stay here for two nights over and above air stream mobile homes and on balance feel we made the right decision. The downside was the very dark redwood location and a slight sense that restaurant customers took priority over staying guests. We... More

After motoring down from San Fran on hwy 1, this is where to stop for the night . Their food is awesome . We have stayed at Deetjen's twice . Wish to go back again . Old stage coach Inn , very rudimentary wooden cabins built on the walls of a deep ravine with a river running down to the... More

We stayed two nights at the Deetjen's Inn at the end of October, 2014. I picked the room with our private bathroom (as I did not want to share it at night with some one or walk). Our room had a free standing wood burning fire stove. It was small size, but produced a lot of heat for the room.... More

Homey, gorgeous, and lovely people! It was a bit cold, but it was like camping but cost more money. Each cabin is unique and has such charm to it. I loved every moment here! There is no cell phone service, which I loved as well.

On our first trip along Highway 1, we passed Deetjen's only and thought it looked very nice. Back home we checked the place out on the internet and we decided to stay here at our next trip. This summer it was the second time that we stayed here. We had booked the "Little Room" in advance. It might be that... More

The first thing that strikes you as you walk up to the main cabin, is the stillness. Tall redwoods rustle in the breeze. The pacific ocean crashes mightily on the rocky cliff far below. Being in the middle of redwoods, sea, rocks and spirits encourage a tone of hashed voices by guests who listen avidly to nature. This retreat has... More

My husband and I really enjoyed Deetjen's! We stayed in the Upper Creek room, and really liked how cute it was, and enjoyed the great deck. The room was very clean and warm. Deetjen's Restaurant was outstanding - and unbelievably cute! We had a breakfast and a dinner there, and it was just wonderful. During our two-night stay, we met... More

Deetjens was a ripoff. It is realt a dump. Have never experienced such a bad "Hotel". The price was much to high, we payed over 200USD per night. Also they was proud of there restaurant that had far to high prices. In general the taxes, fees etc are to high in USA. We stay 6 weeks and the cost will... More

We were recommended to stay here on the way from SF to LA and we are very glad that we did. The greeting was warm and friendly and when we got to our room we were thrilled. It was like a mini cabin of our own complete with fireplace and a decent stock of wood. Opening the windows at night... More

The only bad thing about my stay at Deetjen's was that it was too short! I would highly recommend the inn and the Stokes room in particular. The setting is gorgeous and the room was warm and cozy. I didn't want to leave! We ate at the restaurant as well which was pretty good too. My dinner was delicious but... More
