Big Sur Lodge was just what we were hoping to find. A rustic lodge surrounded by the awesome beauty of Big Sur. We were lucky to scoop up a last minute cancellation, just after Thanksgiving. Another bonus was the fireplace in the room. Absolutely perfect! Hope to go for Thanksgiving this year. Some rooms have enough beds for a family... More

For $200/a night I was expecting at least more sound proofed walls since our next door neighbor had a little baby crying all night long. Room was ok, nothing special. After 9pm, the whole complex turned to a ghost town; even the cafe and grocery store was closed. And there was this weird attitude at almost all staff members, which... More

We chose this lodge because of the location to hiking and trails. They also had a room choice that comfortably slept five. Be aware the food and restaurants in Big Sur are quite pricey. There are no reasonable options. The lodge restaurant was good and clean and moderately priced. Every other restaurant we went to was more expensive. Room was... More

Thank you for staying at Big Sur Lodge. We are glad to hear that you liked your room and our restaurant. While it is true that our rooms do not offer televisions as part of the retreat-like ambiance, we do have big screen televisions at our Outdoor Patio Bar should you come visiting again. If you would like to let... More

Lodging in Big Sur is pricey. At $200 a night this lodge was up there for us but most rooms sleep 4 so this could be an affordable option for families. The rooms were spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the convince of the general store and moderate trails. The outdoor bar is also nice but the restaurant is just... More

Staying at the Big Sur Lodge makes a lot of sense. It's really well located and very quiet, off the main drag and it provides easy access to all that the Big Sur offers. The cabins have been updated, but have lost some of their charm. There are some easy walks direct from the cabins. Walls are pretty thin so... More

The Big Sur Lodge was great for our one night stay. Our cabin was a large, clean 2 room/1 bath unit with a queen and 2 twin beds. There was ample parking and the rate of the room included the parking fee for the state parks for the duration of our stay. The lodge had a store and restaurant which... More

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in a cabin at Big Sur Lodge in January 2015 and it was wonderful. The cabin was cozy and very clean. The highlight of the trip was the wonderful staff at the lodge. Front Desk-Suzie, Restaurant-Alex & Luis, Maintenance-Hum, Housekeeping-Neris. The superior service that these employees provided made the trip a success. I... More

My sister and I stayed three nights here this past week, had a great time and were so glad we came. This turned out to be a wonderful choice for our Big Sur adventure. Big Sur is magical and I love the state park but the lodge left a lot to be desired. The price was higher than it should be for a serious lack of services. Our room was not ready on time. Then, it wasn't properly cleaned so they had to move us to another cabin. There's no phone in the room... More

We ate the best hash browns we've ever had at Big Sur Lodge. The setting is beyond perfect, and the cabin was quite comfortable, albeit a big moist-smelling. But it's in the middle of a redwood forest, so that's to be expected. A travel candle took care of the musty odor, and we can't wait to return.
