My husband and I stayed 4 nights in a cabin at Big Sur Lodge in January 2015 and it was wonderful. The cabin was cozy and very clean. The highlight of the trip was the wonderful staff at the lodge. Front Desk-Suzie, Restaurant-Alex & Luis, Maintenance-Hum, Housekeeping-Neris. The superior service that these employees provided made the trip a success. I... More

My sister and I stayed three nights here this past week, had a great time and were so glad we came. This turned out to be a wonderful choice for our Big Sur adventure. We had an accommodation with two queen beds, with one of the beds in a separate bedroom. The main room also had a fireplace, couch, easy... More

Big Sur is magical and I love the state park but the lodge left a lot to be desired. The price was higher than it should be for a serious lack of services. Our room was not ready on time. Then, it wasn't properly cleaned so they had to move us to another cabin. There's no phone in the room... More

bhonig- Thank you for staying at Big Sur Lodge. We are thrilled that you loved Big Sur. We are very sorry that our prices, services, room cleanliness, and the arrival of a firewood starter packet a little late in the evening were a disappointment to you. We apologize that the services we provided during your stay did not meet your... More

We ate the best hash browns we've ever had at Big Sur Lodge. The setting is beyond perfect, and the cabin was quite comfortable, albeit a big moist-smelling. But it's in the middle of a redwood forest, so that's to be expected. A travel candle took care of the musty odor, and we can't wait to return.

I want to first stipulate that this review and rating is for the room and restaurant, not for the surroundings. Big Sur is outstandingly beautiful. I spent a night at Big Sur Lodge the last week of December, it was an exceptionally cold time of year for California. We paid $300 per night. The room came with a fireplace and... More

damyd- Thank you for visiting Big Sur Lodge this December. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the surroundings of Big Sur. While it is true that we do not have telephones in the rooms as part of the retreat-like atmosphere here at Big Sur Lodge, we do have a courtesy telephone for calling the front desk available to... I read many reviews before booking our cabin at Big Sur Lodge. If you know what to except you won't be disappointed. The only thing I would do different is include the fireplace. I opted for a full kitchen and not the fireplace. The cabin was a little chilly. We stayed two nights, Dec.26th & 27th. The first night we... More

After checking in with Lars, we hopped in the car and laughed and said "can you say disgruntled employee!" We went and found our cabin and walked in. It was ice cold and we spent few minutes trying to get the remote to work for the fire. It showed the changes taking place on the remote but did nothing to... More

Old fashioned lodging inside the redwoods park. Spent a night, pretty quiety. Comes with a bundle of wood for the fireplace but has electric as well. Parking right outside the door is nice. Has a general store as well.

Food was good, service was poor. Understaffed (according to manager) and no list was being kept, so people seated ahead of us randomly. Coffee and espresso bar poorly managed as well. Restrooms were filthy several days in a row. Overall, restaurant experience was poor while our stay was great!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Big Sur Lodge for a weekend getaway. We really enjoyed our stay.
