Big Sur is not filled with many hotel choices, so if you must stay here to see McWay Falls then it's worth it. If I had it do do over again, I would drive the thirty miles North to Monterey for more reasonable accomodations. There is no wi-fi, no hair dryer, no coffee making, no tv, no cell phone coverage,... We stayed one night in one of the little cabins across the highway. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom though very small was perfectly adequate. We didn't notice any road noise during the night. We loved the big wooden chairs set right in the river, though the water was cold so we only dangled our toes in for... More

Good food and acceptable prices. I love the location and the atmosphere. I truly believe that the River Inn is the perfect place to go to eat when you plan to visit the Big Sur Area or even if you are just planning to cross it riding up or down the coast on Hw1 Is nice when they have music... More

This was my first time staying at Big Sur River Inn, the attraction being their Winter Getaway package and having been on the grounds and restaurant before. I'm ready to go back! The package included a generous gift card to use in the restaurant, bar or general store. The inn is casual and comfortable but has elegance to it without... More

Staid at one of the rooms across the road. The room was "rustic" but neat, though we were glad there wasn't much traffic, because the rooms don't have much sound proofing. The restaurant is nice, and the food isn't bad, but pricy. There is free wireless Internet in the main building. Managed to get a (weak) signal in the room... More

This place is very cute and I liked the facility/surroundings, but I don't think I'll return based on the value… Just shy of $200 for the night I expected a bit more… in the tiny room you get a bed, dresser, and small bathroom. The place was VERY clean though, and the staff was very nice. They do provide shampoo,... More

Rustic does not mean run down. No phones, no T.V.s just river, forest, and serenity. From check in to check out the staff are faultless in the preformance of thier tasks. In the restaurant you will probably find Dante hosting/serving/managing. He is perhaps the most skilled professional I have ever met. His genuine desire to make your stay great is... More

My Husband and I came here as part of our road trip honeymoon from San Francisco to Los Angeles last August. It was really lovely - our room was on the other side of the road, so it was a bit cheaper but we preferred this because it meant we were slightly tucked away. We didn't notice the road at... More

My husband and I decided to overnight at this motel following a very hearty meal (and a few Margueritas) in their charming restaurant. As the restaurant (and parts of the motel I believe) was temporarily closing for a scheduled deep clean the very next morning (breakfast/room service therefore not available) we were given a really great deal for the night... My bf and I went up to big sur for our anniversary (new years weekend) I've never been . I called everywhere looking for a room and everywhere was booked besides big sur river inn. I wasn't happy with spending 185 dollars on a room for one night with no tv,no wifi, and no service but had choice. But the... More
