When planning our trip we wanted to keep it simple and at a place that offered the local feel on not so crowded and un-commercialized beach town. I got the referral from a good friend about this place and he described exactly what we wanted. We requested an upstairs unit and luckily one was available out of the 3 total... More

Where to begin except at the beginning...I had spent many months on the web looking for an affordable place to stay for the month of April in Puerto Morelos. When I find a place on-line it is important to me to click on the rooms and then the rates for the rooms. Nothing frustrates me more than clicking the "rates"... More

If you like your lodging unconventional, check it out. Have coffee on the deck watching the sun coming up over the ocean. Listen the school band playing in the nearby school. Walk a block to the square for dining and shopping. Go swimming. The beach is across the street. Save a few bucks by cooking a simple meal. After all,... More

No mattress pad, no hot water upstairs unit (southern) says it all. Next door had hot water. If you are lucky the renters next door don't stay up all night talking out on the veranda. Michael, the manager, is a cool helpful nice guy.

Stayed for two nights in November on way back to Cancun from Playa del Carmen. Michael the owner is a wonderful fellow who is very accommodating. Michael was welcoming and warm and helped carry my bag up the stairs upon arrival. I think this place is fantastic, the views of the sea and beach, the terrace with hammocks, oh and... More

I spent an amazing 8 days in Puerto Morelos in April at Uncle Hugo's and it was onen of the best vacations of my life. I went to attend a friend's wedding at a resort near Playa del Carmen and am so glad I decided to stay in Puerto Morelos instead of at one of the resorts. Puerto Morelos is... More

My husband and I stayed for 10 days with a couple of friends at Uncle Hugo's last month. I agree with reviewer Jim K that it's the best way to experience the "real Mexico". Uncle Hugo's is just outside of Cancun, in peaceful Puerto Morelos. We stayed in the two upstairs rooms, both clean and comfy, with appliances and utensils... More

Like i said this is the best place to stay in Puerto Morelos, the location is front beach and the rooms are huge, very clean, with wifi, kitchen, table and sofa. Big terrace to relax in hammock and very friendly people! Micheal has become a very good friend from the first day we met each other and he'll make you... More

I stayed at Uncle.Hugo's for several months. It's not a Hilton but far exceeds the fancy hotel environment. It is a small quaint place with a million-dollar view of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Just far away from Cancun this little fishing village offers a sense of peace and serenity I have never felt before... love... More

Having never been to Mexico before, I really had no idea what to expect. Frankly, I was 100% open to anything. A quick drive from the airport and we arrived on the front porch at Uncle Hugo's. We were promptly greeted with the smiling face of the caretaker. He brought our luggage up to our room and showed us around.... More
