If you want to get away from Cancun hustle and bustle this is a great little place. 20 seconds out the door of your hut you are in the ocean. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty and unwind. We ordered breakfast the night before, and we told her 10 am, we got out of our room... more

The Acamaya Reef was a charming little place to stay- which is being swallowed up by huge resorts. My friend and I really enjoyed being right on the beach, and the price was right for the area. The rooms are pretty basic, with just the beds, fan, luggage shelf, and two small lights. We shared a common bathroom with the... more

We just spent 2 weeks in the Yucatan. Our first night was booked at Acamaya Reef Resort. It was difficult to find, and not close (extremely far) to anything other than the previously mentioned construction. The owner, Daisy, was quick to greet us and seemed polite enough. When she saw that we had 4 people in the car (We booked... more

I booked this hotel with expedia, giving my credit card to hold the reservation. The hotel charged a full amount the same day and then refused to return any money when I decided to cancel the reservation (over 21 days before the travel time). I spent hours with expedia agent, but at the end they said that nothing could be... more

I just got back from a lovely 8 day trip to the Riviera Maya and loved every minute. MY BFF and I stayed in 3 different areas : Puerto Morelos, Cozumel, and Valladolid . the 1st night of our trip we stayed in Puerto MOrelos at the Amar Inn (very cheap and better than the price we paid - stay... more

Don't stay at this hotel unless you are looking for a base for a covert operation to infiltrate the surrounding all inclusive mega resorts. We should have known to turn around when we saw the "For Sale" sign at the entrance. It only got worse as we entered. Our room was a dark, small, stuffy psychedelic experience gone bad. We... more

Loved our stay at Acamaya. We stayed in our RV at Acamaya Reef from Feb. to June 3, 2008. The family who owns and runs this place is very friendly, over the top helpful and welcoming. The beach is awesome, with wonderful snorkeling, a little bar for cold drinks, palapas for shade, and just a 45 minute walk down the... more

I generally do not write reviews, but after having read the previous ones I feel the urge to do so. I spent one (too short) week in Yucatan with my girlfriend, beginning with two nights at Acamaya Reef. Actually we felt so well there that we modified slightly our plans to return to Acamaya reef for our last night of... more

Well, expect not much else but some sand and two poor-looking palm trees, two-three VERY basic huts for almost 130 USD! Looks cool first but it is very depressing when you get there, only the ocean is nice (which is nice everywhere else along the coast). I thought it will be a much nicer place, at least the surrounding will... more
