Acamaya Reef is just on the beach, in a white sanded beach, is a small resort, it does not has stars, because it is a special product of low impact on the enviromental, in touch with nature, the rooms are cabanas/bungalows, made of wood and thatched roof. We are located 20 min. from the Cancun's airport and 2 kms north of little town of Puerto Morelos where you can go walking along the beach. we try to make people at home and see that they are confortable. more » « less

I generally do not write reviews, but after having read the previous ones I feel the urge to do so. I spent one (too short) week in Yucatan with my girlfriend, beginning with two nights at Acamaya Reef. Actually we felt so well there that we modified slightly our plans to return to Acamaya reef for our last night of... more

Well, expect not much else but some sand and two poor-looking palm trees, two-three VERY basic huts for almost 130 USD! Looks cool first but it is very depressing when you get there, only the ocean is nice (which is nice everywhere else along the coast). I thought it will be a much nicer place, at least the surrounding will... more

I actually only thought about the Acumaya after the huricane, silently hoping that Wilma washed it away. I stumbled upon this site and read with interest all the other bad experiences others have had. We stayed 2 days due to bad planning. The first morning coffee came to $20.00 for 4 of us. Mrs. Juan Valdez explained that she picked... more

We arrived at the Acamaya Reef thinking that it was a three star hotel. one thing for sure, it is not that! What you see when you arrive is definetly what you get. I was really thinking of getting back into the cab when we arrived but thought that we should really look around first, and we had already paid.... more

I don't usually have bad experiences when I travel, but I must admit this was one of the worst experiences I have had since I have lived and traveled in Mexico. My brother and I called Acamaya, hoping to find a room to book for a night. The owner told me she would confirm a reservation, but that we would... more

I have never written a report for any type of service I have recieved but I felt it was necessary this time. I generally don't expect much from a hotel but I do expect some comfort and security. The rooms were small and dirty. The bathroom (note, not all rooms have bathrooms) looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.... more

I generally don't like to write negative reviews, but in this case I feel constrained to do so. I reserved a room at the Acamaya Reef Hotel via the internet for three people - two beds and another rollaway bed. I received confirmation for this room for three people with two beds and another rollaway bed, which confirmed the total... more

Acamaya Reef Motel is a small, family owned resort which has several cabana style rooms and a small RV park. It sits on a gorgeous palm lined private beach. The owners make you feel like part of the family! It is a short walk to the small quaint town of Puerto Morelos which has all necessary services and only a... more
